I can recall some time ago an entire blog dedicated to saying how shit Russell is and that he isn't nrl standard. Look at him now, I said the exact same thing after he signed with Perth that he is the one player who would have been nice to hang on to.
That's the other thing that is concerning is the moment there is a weakness in our squad (even a perceived weakness) the first thing we should do is go to market to address it. No thought of allowing our coaching staff to improve the players we've already got and who's coming through.

Good to see some Russell love, but it was only a trial game against an ordinary Cronulla reserve grade side. Russell probably had the most first-grade experience of anyone out there. Let's see how the next six months pan out.
Well the Russell thing can be made to work a couple of ways. He may have been up against a Reserve Grade side yesterday but he wasn't when he quietened the Broncos back line last year....We are allowed to be wrong and Russell is definately a lot quicker than he was and is equally good in the air, a must when we play Melb.
Now Parra is gifted with some players in our juniors coming through, I think the forwards look after themselves at this point in time, the backs are OK but do not have the depth. If Russell becomes so important we may be able to do a deal with Perth to mothball some of our young players, this could involve a swap back with Russell, assuming we match his salary he is getting. My guess he is currently on 250/300 and Perth have probably offered 400/450 plus relocation costs and travel backs etc.
Who knows, early days and contrary to what you you say LB, I think Saxon Pryke is very promising, you underate him because he is smaller, he will become a battleship middle worth his weight in gold LOL.... Hopgood type of player!
"Tago will be NSW cup fodder. I think if we take JAC-Kelly-Will-Simmo as our start 2-5, our backup would be Russell, Richie, Samrani and even Twidle before we pick Tago. And according to MON we are still looking to sign an outside back. So Tago might…"
"I said in another blog that middle defence in our red zone remains my main worry. So we'll see.
But overall I am optimistic. I like how many players seem to be playing well and adapting to different roles.
I see possible significant contribution…"
"I was very impressed but my main unsuredness remains the middle defence. I think we handle the edges well now after it was a catastrophe under Arthur and Barrett. BUt middle defence especially in our 30m can be questioned and Sharks only try…"
"Shame indeed Mace. He won't feel it, never, but if enough fans feel that shame for him, and at having him running things the way he does, it will end him"

Talataina got better as he went. That ball to Latu was silky and well timed. Went into the line and sleight of hand with the pass.
I'm surprised at how small Lorenzo is. Hope he has some growing in him.
A full year in Cup will do wonders for him.
What's Jmaine Issako's contract status id take him and his goal kicking I know we've tried to get him before.
Isaako is good, but old though, I think he'd want to finish his career at the Dolphins, their most capped player, highest points scorer
Wouldn't be surprised if we do get him, adding experience to our young squad has done wonders for us.
We have JAC and Kelly but hey why not another to bring along the rest.
