        • I think he looked a bit disinterested to start with LB, and I am guessing he got his arse kicked by Ryles at half time for letting through the Sharks only try.

His second half was much better and he led the forwards and seemed a lot more interested. Fitness was not a problem, just attitude.....most of the young players were outstanding. I will be disappointed if Tago gets picked, even in Cup, he is very ordinary.....the only player I would judge who was out of his depth.

Number 8 (Saxon Pryke) the player that took Hopgood's jersey was very good as well, I know nothing about him but he is the perfect example of the new "battleship" size middle that are going to come more and more into the game.He is a goer and he will grow and maybe ready by this time next year.Twidle is a damn good footballer, where he fits will be a real head scatcher for Ryles and his boys.

We look as good as we can at this stage!

          • Pryke is from the SG ball winning team in 2023. In 2024 he played JF and went into NSW Cup for a few games. In NSW cup that year he was really struggling in attack and espically in defence. In 2025 he was much better in NSW Cup but had injuries as well. Handling was a bit of an issue today for him.

  • I will say, yes it's first trial, but their fitness in the last 5-10mins, considering the amount of ball they had is not good. Da Silva was gassed after 5mins. He needs to pull his socks up if he wants to beat Smith.

    • I thought their fitness looked strong. They were scrambling hard. I think TDS just didn't defend it well rather than pure fatigue.

      • They had a few sets in a row late in that first half and were dropping off tackles, were not controlling the ruck as Cronulla were rolling with quick play the balls. That Cronulla try i was not blaming all on fatigue for Da Silva, he read it poorly.

        • I think that will naturally happen with a young side defending multiple sets in a row. Teams will work you over and get quick play the balls. But to their credit despite the miss tackles and ruck speed they scrambled excellently which arguably means they are fit?

      • Yes EA

    • I haven't been that impressed with Da Silva even last year but he might come good

      • He is 20, so that is on his side.

    • Im not sure about the fitness call. The Sharks had all the ball in the back end of the half and the ref blew the pea out of the whistle.  9-3 penalty count at the moment and they scored with 30 seconds in the half.

It's a trial so there's no point going off early but Tago and Kelma have been the only 2 weak links so far imo. Get Nanva or Richie out on that left wing now. Give them good minutes
