Fuifui - not signed, sealed or delivered

Despite having claimed to have secured the contract of Fuifui Moimoi, the Eels prop is yet to sign on the bottom line and has been linked with the Bulldogs and the Warriors.

Parramatta CEO Paul Osborne was so confident that he had secured a two-year extension that late last year he told The Daily Telegraph that the deal was done, as was a contract with Luke Burt.

However, while Luke Burt's contract has since been formalised, Moimoi's has not despite the fact that last week he played his 100th NRL game in a week. I raised the issue here last week, writing:
"If you cast your mind back, both Luke and Fuifui were reported to have agreed to terms some while ago and I must admit I was little worried when they announced Luke's new deal but not Fuifui's. There has of course been some mumblings that Fuifui has not been at all happy coming off the bench."

Those mumblings I'd been privy too had linked Moimoi to the Bulldogs, who at that stage were looking at needing to find a replacement for Ben Hannant. However, in the Daily Telegraph today it was confirmed that Moimoi had not signed and had been linked with the Warriors as well as the Bulldogs.

Moimoi, who was previously managed by current-Eels chairman Roy Spagnolo, now has a new manager who according to the Telegraph "downplayed the chances of Moimoi leaving but did confirm that he intended to meet with Osborne to discuss the situation this week".

"Now aged 30, Moimoi understands the next two years are his last genuine chance to secure a big payday for his young family before retirement. But on the other hand he loves the Eels and is loath to upset the likes of Spagnolo, who have supported him when no one else did."

  • Give him Justin poores money its bullshit that poore is getting huge money and moi moi is getting scraps, absolute bullshit
  • DAMNNNNNNNN

    they cant let him go
    its that simple ....

im banking that clayless will retire and that could help with the fui fui
    situation
  • Can you stop with that mindless remark! Poore is now contracted for whatever money he signed for! You can't renege on that deal without getting sued. I agree that Poore should have been signed for less but it's too late now!
    • Gotta agree BM. Everyone keeps lamenting the fact we have signed Poore. Well guess what, we have, so get use to it people.
May I add for those calling for his sacking already, if you judged players on a 4 week window of form then in 08 we should of sacked Hayne, Moimoi gone in 2005 and even 06.
The short sightedness of some people amazes me sometimes.
      • And interestingly enough, those same people who continuosly call for the sacking of Poore and Tahu (and in lambchops aka parradise's case, Shackleton) obviously enjoy their 3 month probationary period when starting new employment themselves!
      • Agree Daneel.... agree Poore has a lot of work to do, but it's only round 4!

Give the guy a break and let him work with Ando on getting his game at Parra in gear. He's clearly got talent and capability - just like Moi Moi the coach just has to figure out how to extract it.

Poore will come good team - give him some more time....
    • You didn't say that a few months ago MR expert. You said we needed him and he was worth the money because he was the top prop and a hard man and our pack needed this and that blah blah. And before you rant and rave about we have him now blah blah. You can't blame FUI for maybe going elsewhere .It's a huge slap in his face because he was the best prop running around then we pay way over the odds for this skirt. As stated on here by many others, petro,Price, hannet ALL fired up from the word go. He got smashed in origin, and has been smashed the first 3 rounds. Oh and you silly comment about 3 month probationary period is stupid. Poore would be dragged to the bosses desk already for NOT preforming. Swallow some pride and admit you got it wrong
  • I agree with you - Cayless will retire at the end of this year and will make way for Moi Moi to lead the forward pack. Justin Poore will get better, not sure if you have noticed teams have gunned for him in the first few games - he will step up and i have no doubt by middle of the year he will be one of our best
    • Whether Cayless leaves or not should make ZERO impact on Fui

The club has already made its offer -- we SHOULD NOT be lifting our offer. If he and his player manager want to chase the dollars - let him leave. The club has been great to Fui and he should stick to his verbal agreement to sign on the terms put before him in December
  • split poores money amongst all the fans!
we have to watch the useless prick!
no wonder wayne bennett got rid of him!
