Fonua pole👀

Fonua pole is another one hitting open market and been seeing from different sources he could be on eels hitlist aswell. If true I reckon we should definitely go hard for him,can definitely lock up the starting prop spot along side Spencer in 2028.

In the ceo update posted by eels a couple days ago.It says Mike rush and mon are very active in the open market for players that suit ryless style of play and Fonua pole definitely does.Similar build to Jack Williams and is a workhorse. Can definitely be our enforcer with Spencer.

Would youse take him at parra?

  • Only thing with Pole is what are the plans with our rookie middles if we are chasing Pole? Now if Tuivaiti leaves then go for Pole. But as for now, we have good middles coming through that with Leniu I would say we are good for starting middles.

    • At the end of the day, rookies are still rookies. If u have the opportunity to bring a 25 below prop who has shown he can play good first grade footy we should be taking it. Maybe this confirms rumours of Hopgood leaving? Paulo and hopgood if true won't be at the club in 2028 most likely leaving a vacuum for forwards.

  • Pole is great, IMO, and still young. But I'd rather focus on our own middles.

I expect by 2028 we have Talagi, Koina, Tuivati, Brown, Leniu, Williams, and at least one of Moretti/Hopgood/Doorey to be in the 17. That's forgetting any development from Guymer, Lokeni, Nunn, Funa moving to the middle. Pryke!

But Pole would be the one if Tuivati doesn't renew for example. So I'd keep an eye.

  • Can Pole play left centre.

As that's the position I'm looking at left centre we need another middle like we need a hole in the head outside farken backs please.

We had Lomax.2 yrs ago JAC also now look at the state of us we are talking more farken middles and lack luster outside backs I'm like am I missing something here.Seriously we cannot be going into next season with the train wreck we have going in the outside backs I mean seriously.

  • we need outside backs, we should be throwing everything at Bostock, Best and I'd welcome Sloan and Talagi back. no to Pole our juniors are good as or better than him.

    • Why Talagi Shane.....your smarter than that?

      • When he was with us I thought he was over rated, this season I paid more attention to him and his defence has improved alot and got spoken about harshly as when you take more attention it was actually Mclean that caused the problems in defense. He is only young and his ceiling is quite high and would be a cheap pick up and can cover alot of positions.
