Ferguson Targeted by Eels.

Four Sydney clubs are locked in a bidding war for Cronulla winger Blake Ferguson. The Roosters are favoured to win the signature of the talented youngster but his manager, Solomon Haumono, yesterday indicated the decision was far from final. Parramatta, Canterbury and Manly have weighed in with big offers for the 20-year-old. ''Everybody is thinking he is going to the Roosters but the other clubs have put forward some very attractive offers,'' Haumono said. ''We will have to weigh it up, it's not going to be an easy or simple decision.'' The late offers from the other three clubs makes a decision unlikely this week.

I dont like the thought of a very attractive offer from us.

  • I would rather keep Guru
  • so would i, but he seems to be on his way out no matter what, so cant say u wouldnt want Ferguson in the team
  • Is that the Solomon Haumono( ex league journeyman) that was knocked out in 15 seconds in his professional fight at Blacktown RSL(2009), only to be awarded the winner because his opponent (Royce Sio) proceeded to continue punching him when he was motionless on the canvas?
  • I cant believe what you guys are saying- "yeah, lets keep Grothe". WHY ??? So he can give our opposition the cheapest tries week in, week out ??? Rather than sign someone who can score unbelievable, amazing, impossible, and the most entertaining tries for us week in week out and can only learn from the likes of Burty,Haynesy,Tahu etc and get even better.
How many years has Grothe been around for and yet he cant get that out of his game ???
Grothe was even mentioned in that 'Eels Parody" song where he says- "Grothe, stay on your wing".
What a joke to wanna keep him. Every single one of the other 15 clubs have a winger or 2 who score millions of tries every week-rather than "LETTING THE OTHER 15 CLUBS SCORE THE CHEAPEST TRIES IMAGINABLE" every time he plays.
How many tries has Grothe scored for us in the last 2, 3, and even 4 or 5 years ? less than any other clubs wingers i bet.
  • I would take Ferguson over Grothe any day of the week. The guru is a has been and he is very injury prone and let's in way to many tries for my liking. Blake is the future and I reckon he would awesome on the end of our backline. Wake up people and look toward the future and forget what the guru did 3 or 4 years ago because the past does not win you premierships. I was hoping that Parra would go after Blake and I am glad they have.
  • Grothe was one of our best in the gf last year but Ferguson would be good to have.
  • would luv to have him here but not at the expense of grothe he offers 2 much from kick returns and is so strong luv how he always seems to be able to bounce off the first defender
  • I hope if he does end up coming to the club, that we haven't paid overs for him.
He's worth no more than 150k are a year if that.
  • +1
  • we will be looking the goods next year if our back-line reads hayne ferguson tahu reddy grothe mortimer cronk.......yep, perhaps its worth paying overs if the talent is young and proven [unlike mortimer]. ferguson is a dynamo....how else do you attract the really talented players without paying overs? would hayne still be here? Poore came on overs but we needed it. you either pay overs like the roosetrs or bulldogs, or you end up like newcastle....
