Feleti Mateo charged by match review committee

Parramatta Eels lock Feleti Mateo has been charged by the match review committee.

Mateo has been charged with a Grade 1 Striking offence from the 60th minute of the eels' match against the Rabbitohs last Friday night.

With a clean record, Mateo can escape suspension with an early guilty plea and will not miss his final match for the Parramatta Eels against the Warriors, his future club, this Saturday.

A decision on how he pleas will be made soon.

  • Hope he plays,he will have a blinder and show how good he can be to his new club,he will excel at the Warriors along with Inu as they have great club spirit and mateship which our club has lacked this year.
  • He'll want to play for the Eels once more, so I presume he'll take the early guilty plea.
Actually thought that he was a bit lucky to only get one week tops after re-watching the fight incident.
He got a clean punch on Lowe, but I guess the NRL Match Review Committee didn't deem it as malicious.
  • Would be funny if he pleaded not guily and then was picked for Wenty and Not parra. then had carry over points to take to warriors with him!
  • He pleaded guilty and is free to play for the Eels this weekend.
  • ok so now lets pick him for wenty and give some youngsters ago.
  • In a way, I'd like to see that, so that Pat O'Hanlon or Brendan Oake or someone like that can get a crack, but at the same time, Mateo has done some very good things for our club, and we owe it to him to give him the sending off that he deserves, and by doing so, he has to play this week for the Eels.

Inu, KK, Mateo and particularly Cayless, all deserve our support this weekend.
    • Cayless does yes but i couldn't give a crap about the other 3 to be honest.
      • They've all shown what they can do at some stage, so to some degree, the other three deserve some sort of respect.
        • yes they are all mates and I am sure the other players will want to play with them before they leave.
  • Suspended by doing what?
You mean something on the field, so that he misses out on a game/games next year?

Unless he wants to be in the fans bad books, I doubt he'd do that.
