Brent Read has revealed Mitchell Moses is a chance to pass concussion protocols after his head knock against the Panthers in a bid to play the semi-final next Friday night.
Moses went off halfway through the second half after an ugly head knock that saw him struggle to get to his feet, which puts him in jeopardy for the Eels’ next final.
However, Moses felt no follow on effect the morning after, which is a good sign in his bid to pass concussion protocols with an independent doctor this week.
“I texted Mitchell Moses this morning and he said he was feeling pretty good,” Read said on Triple M.
“He is feeling not too bad, but obviously he is going to have to go through protocols.

“So that is a process. I think that takes a few days. They will have a few days where he will rest and recuperate.
“He will go and see a doctor and get either a green light or a red light from the doctor then they will move on from there.”
Read explained that any concussion requires a player to be cleared by an independent doctor, but like Cameron Murray’s bid to play the Roosters a week after a head knock, the early signs are promising for Moses.
“If you are concussed you’ve got to go through the independent doctor,” Read explained.
“Obviously Mitchell has to do that, [it] obviously doesn’t mean he’s out.
“It means if he gets the clearance from the doctor, then he returns to contact training later in the week.
“And then they make a decision after that, whether he plays.
“But the early signs are pretty positive for Mitch that he might be right and ready to go again.
“The difference between Cameron Murray and Moses is the eels will play next Friday night, so it is a shorter turnaround. So he has got less time.”

That's good news, because we have no chance without him unfortunately.
The word from Paul Kent saying it's very unlikely that he will play.I don't like Paul Kent
Never take the word of a kent.
He'll be deathriding that decision now we're playing the Raiders. You watch, it will be the only thing he talks about all week. He will be doing his best to influence the decision over the next 3 days.
I got a feeling he won't be allowed to play. It's just easier for a doctor to take the easy route and say no. No chance of personal repercussions.
If I were the doctor that had to rule Moses out of a must win finals match...I'd be very worried about personal repercussions, like being hunted down by every single deranged Eels fan.
I'd pass him just to avoid the fans wrath.
Yeah Cam Murray is able to play tomorrow then Moses can. Only difference is the turnaround.
If he passes the protocols as deemed by a doctor, he'll play.
It's so variable with concussion, sometimes things that look dreadful on the field have no lingering effects, other times a brush with the ground can leave you feeling the impact for weeks. No one has any clue how this will go... we'll just have to wait and see (and bribe all the doctors around the greater Parra region).
1 thing in his favour is doesn't have history of concussion like Murray or others who don't return the following week.
Mid season clubs would rest him and take no chances but think he big chance to play. It's a big final and they will find a friendly independent dr.
Murray has had a concussion earlier in the year while Moses hasn't so don't think the obstacles for him are as difficult.
