The boys are back after we loaded up big-time on the 13-1 that was on the offer with the bookies.
Would have been nice to get the same kind of odds as we grabbed last year, but I think they’ve gotten wise to our ploy of playing like shit all year till the odds blow out, getting on and then starting to play some football. We even tried to throw a little controversy into the mix this time with that whole Hayne blow-up and Caylo did his best with the “club in crisis” comment after the Newcastle game.
Still, 13-1 will provide for a nice little end-of-season trip for the boys and I’ll be able to put that billiard room extension on the house.
Anyway, I pulled off some coaching masterstrokes on the weekend. I’ve been a bit concerned that Kris Inu has been getting a little uptight during the game. He’s been training the house down but hasn’t been producing on game day. So I got the hypnotist in before the game on Saturday night and got Inu hypnotised to think it was a training match. Suddenly, he was back to the Inu we know and love - playing without a care in the world.
Only problem was, Jono Wright seemed to get caught in the hypnosis cross-fire, and for 15 minutes was wandering about the field like it was a holiday camp. After that try, I got the trainer to give him a slap across the chops and it snapped him out of it. Dangerous stuff, hypnosis.
Highlight of the night for me, was the 80 metre Jarryd Hayne try. We’ve been working on that one all year. Catch the ball, step left, step right, step left, step right, step left and run. Gets them every time.
I’ve had a few people ask me what the go with Te Maari was, and why did he only get a few minutes. Unfortunately, he got his feet stuck in the peddles of the bike and we couldn’t get him off it until a couple of minutes to go. Strange I know, but these things happen in NRL.
Anyway, Bulldogs this week and I’ve made a couple of change. T’s back. He’s best mates with Ozzy so I don’t want to go burning those bridges. And I’ve brought MK back into the starting team for KK. I’m a bit worried about KK, given he’s off to the Dogs next year and that he might be feeling a little generous towards his future employer. Might have to go the old super glue on the bike pedal trick again.

If only we could all think like you - but then we don't get the big bucks, do we?
Look I'm just a guy doing my best to win a Premiership and build a billiard room.
Don't worry I've still got more than a couple of rabbits up the sleeve. Or cards in my hat.
P.S. If we make it all the way home Muttman, I'll be giving you a call. And Colin I wouldn't say the "big bucks" - if I was getting a Bennett-like salary then I wouldn't need the 13-1.
AND I am bringing your signs! ;-)
Please keep our boys positive and let them know how much we love them!!
Plus I'm set at 11-1, I'll be happy to see the odds go as low as possible from here!
