Telegraph hack, Hooper said on NRL Tonight yesterday that the Eels will officially lose their twelve points in about ten days. He also said that we will lose the two points that we won against the Knights! If that is true then Greenberge and the NRL are guilty of false pretences. Greenberge said we could play for points this year if we were within the salary cap. Nathan Peats was moved on to achieve just that. We are within the salary cap but will lose the two points we won against Newcastle and, presumably, any points we win this year! So we are playing for no points. That is what we should have been doing all along. We could have kept Peats and won more games. It was a gross error by the coach to force out Peats. I find all this hard to believe. Perhaps Hooper has got it all wrong?-nothing surprising there. On the face of it, Greenberge and the NRL are guilty of false pretences.

The NRL are run by nuffies like I said David Smith wouldn't have leaked all this BS when he was the CEO....
If they hit us with the whole lot in one go , the club would've just gave them the finger , stuck to our guns , still be playing for zero result and have our squad in tact and ready for 2017 . Toddy was smart to utilise our fans love for knee jerk changes , played them like a fiddle . Hes pretty much just drip fed us our death all year .
True to form another Blog where assumptions are the only facts.
I believe the NRL said we needed to get under the Cap and the 5 had to stand down. Has this happened or has the court case officially meant that they havent stood down?
I havent seen the breach notice and the exact wording so I cant comment further. However the fact that players have left etc means that someone at the club must believe that this is the only way forward.
My concern over this issue has been and still is that the NRL has played the whole salary cap drama thru the media. In political terms it is known as kite flying or megaphone politics, the aim is to condition the masses, the NRL fans to stop them from challenging their findings. It is a tactic that has worked a treat for the NRL. The Eels have no freinds outside the Eels supporter base. Either media or other fans.
If the Hooper report is true and the leak is spot on the money as all others have been, it just shows that the NRL has no integrity. The Eels were caught out doing the wrong thing but the treatment as a result, of leaking everything to the press is not justified. Even Greenburgs meeting with Foran whilst in rehap was orchestrated and leaked to the press.
If their tactics are designed to take the focus off the salary cap failings they have achieved it.
John Eel: Agree 100%. Especially Greenburge visiting Foran and it appears in the media! . Greenburge manipulates people and uses people. He rang Michael Cronin and Peter Sterling saying he wanted to make Parramatta strong again and I want you to help me !! Fortunately, both turned him down.
What you say here is the basis of the argument being used at the Supreme Court by the legal council of the five directors. He said, among other things, the five were the subject of "A public flogging" "Without fair procedure."
Not sure what next.. But, the current board digging their heels in is making things worse.. I respect they are protecting their reputations, but the broom needs to be used, fresh start.. Brand new people in the Front office with no affiliations to anyone.. Until that happens, I think this kite flying will continue
Clean sweep is vital agreed. The danger is that part of the old factions may get back in. That would not solve anything. As many have said here already need to get fresh faces with the business experience and skills to run the Eels as a great football club and stop using it as a retirement home for former players without the necessary smarts.
The NRL is shockingly run!! Sure Parra were over the cap and can only blame themselves, but the only thing that works and is legit with this game is the State of origin. The EPL, NFL and even AFL are streaks ahead of the NRL.
