Ex Storm Boss to Sort TPA's

Former Melbourne chief executive Mark Evans has been earmarked as the man to sift through the murky world of third-party agreements and come up with a new system designed to maintain the integrity of the salary cap.Evans, who resigned as Storm boss in April to return to England, is expected to jet back into Australia to complete a comprehensive review of the third-party system before the end of the year.Any changes could be brought in for next season. It is understood Evans is held in the highest regard by NRL chief executive Dave Smith, who originally wanted the former Storm boss to join his staff at Rugby League Central.Smith has now got his man, albeit on a short-term deal. Evans, who was formerly involved with rugby union in England, faces a delicate balancing act in attempting to appease the concerns of clubs and the earning power of the game’s elite players.Read more at http://www.zerotackle.com/nrl/nrl-drafts-in-ex-storm-boss-to-sort-third-party-agreements-18863/#0oPtOFlqeOcu7CxE.99Well if any one could, it will be a ex storm, bulldog or roosters executive....Go Figure!!

  • WHAT????? Oh my bad thought it said, Ex Storm Boss to RORT TPAs, lol

  • BREAKING NEWS! Lance Armstrong has been hired by the NRL to undertake drug testing for all clubs also.
    • And captain peptides will administer the urine sampling.
  •  Beware!  Why does the NRL need to go overseas to get someone to fix a hometown problem? Not enough brains at headquarters? What about that well known windbag an know- all Greenburge? The truth of the situation is that it is a Welsh Mafia take over. Dave Smith is Welsh, Evans is as Welsh as Jones, indeed!  I am all for it actually,    because with a name like Lloyd, I could be in the running for a nice little sinecure! And anything that leaves Greenburge behind can only be beneficial. Going a long way back I do have a smidgin of Welsh genes, as does everyone!!, but I don`t like the Welsh, they never stop singing. They sing in the bath, they sing in the shower, they sing on the buses and on the trains, they sing at the football, they sing at their eistedfords they never stop singing.Beware.

    • Just like that bloody Tom Jones
    • Its hard to beleive that the majority of clubs put up with this 3rd party crap. Clearly most clubs cant compete with the few clubs that have mastered this tpd crap. League administration is blatantly allowing third party deals and the way that the Storm cap saga was dealt with clearly shows that. I cant see league ever being administered evenly over the teams and I guess as the supporter base gets sick of it and the revenue drops enough the game will sink even lower than it is now in terms of it being a national sport
  • Get rid of the cap or make it ridiculously high so it doesn't count, let the weak die off and make the rest stronger, then you'll see quality football every week and turn Australian football into the financial monster it deserves to be.
Sorry to all the fans of the Tigers, Sharks, Knights, Titans and Panthers, bring in another NZ team and one from Fiji and Papua new Guinea.

"It was. Mainly because Read came off as a total fuckwit. While it's nice to see (most of) the media on our side in this case, it;s really hard not to be."
