Enough of the rubbish

I've probably been overly tolerant of because I understand people need to vent when we're losing, but this is fair warning to everyone to cut right back on the abuse, swearing and general rubbish that has been taking place lately.

I'm not going to hesitate to suspend people who violate the code of conduct over the next week or so, because things have gotten out of hand of late. There is no need to abuse other members - play the ball, not the man.

And if you're a non-Eels fan, and you're simply here to bag our club, without any thoughtful input, you won't be welcomed here for long.

Here's the code of conduct, if you need reminding:

  • My issue is the blind faithfull who keep wrapping the current players and club.

I am very firmly of the view that we have lost our way big time and 2011 is going to be a very long season for us. Yes there are some great u18s coming through but our NYC side is a joke and our roster is no way better in 2011 than 2010.

I dont believe abusing individuals is right but we do need to be balanced. A lot of our players are border line first grade standard and not the legends that they are made out to be.
  • Golling, there is no issue with having an opinion.

I'm taking issue, with people getting personal abuse for having an opinion other people don't agree with.
  • Like "joetaha" the trouble maker
  • i only spruke about there big heads which i said at the start of last years training, i was there seeing it first hand. Alot of u won't agree with me but even hindy has the big head additude when it comes to game day, they need a full overhaul of players and staff and our ceo is from raiders background he does not care for parra. If the players put all there energy into busting there guts in the offseason than thinking we are way too good for everyone and just turn up and we will win, then we would have won more games. Im glad they did not make it now and i hope they start early this year busting there bums for there money in offseasonand work towards a plan to win
  • no one is denying you an opinion parra eels, but all that is being asked is that the personal attacks cease
  • As an Eels supporter since 1975 I can't understand any supporter saying they are glad the Eels did not make it! I just don't understand that attitude, please someone explain this to me, I always want my team to make it. i remember the joy of 1981 as a teenager and its been so long since 1986, I want them to win!

Also if we restricted ourselves to CEO's only born & bred in Parramatta well thats a small talent pool in business terms, its your opinion but i totally disagree with that opinion, just as we try to buy the best players from other clubs from time to time (Cronk, Cooper, etc) the club will & should always try to have the best managers & directors running it, regardless of where they come from.
    • i want them to make it , i was just saying they might learn something from it IF and i big if they want it, with the club issue ozzy has fired people for no reason other than saving money thats crupted when they tell players and workers in the club go cause we need to save money
  • Thank you 1Eyed - I believe in healthy debate and respect.

The problems associated with personal abuse and name calling is that it is NOT tolerated in society and nor should it be in cyberspace

I for one support your decision - 100%

It's not easy to be a moderator in life - just like rugby league referees hear from the maddening crowds every weekend. And just like an offduty police officer has to endure in social situations when listening to idiots bag them as "pigs"

So, I don't envy your role as MODERATING this site - but it''s sadly much needed

But the sad fact about being human is that not ALL of us understand that without RULES and COMMON SENSE we simply cannot GET ALONG with each other......as crazy as that sounds

I certainly can DO WITHOUT reading the proliferation of the "you are an idiot" jibes and unwarrented swearing at members and comments for simply having an opinion that differs from yours

I see FAR TOO MUCH unwarranted and needless abuse here at 1Eyed......for simply having an opinion

IF YOU DON'T agree with somebody else's point of view, try debating your counter point with logic and facts and try interesting words instead of swearing - show some intellegence rather than some yobbo loutish dribble

Personal abuse is easy............and thoughtless..............and not very clever at all

BRAVO 1Eyed - i feel ashamed that you have had to pull out the big stick..........but I agree, it is long overdue though.
  • If there was a grace period for abuse after a dissapointing season; i believe it is over and i agree that we have to abide by the code. We're passionate about our club, we express it anyway we want to but should try at least to keep this site respectable. Better place for the kids than facebook! Keep it this way..
  • On ya 1EE. I was wondering when you'd step in. If posters can't express an opinion without swearing or abusing other posters then we're better off without their opinion.
