EELS WEAVE MAGIC

Titans playmaker Tom Weaver has had talks with the Eels about potentially joining the club next season. It is understood Parramatta have an interest in Weaver about the prospect of the 21-year-old joining the club next season.

Weaver has played six games since making his NRL debut last year. The Eels are in the need of back-up to regular starters Mitch Moses and Dylan Brown with youngster Ethan Sanders joining the Raiders next season while fill-in Daejarn Asi is uncontracted for next season and could be off to the Super League.

Weaver has spent the majority of the season playing for Tweed in the Queensland Cup.

The Eels also had discussions with fellow Titans half Tanah Boyd about a potential mid-year switch but he was reluctant to move clubs.

          • You know LB, you have remarkable patience with some of these people and they wonder why our depth is so poor, maybe we could create a International back up team?

  • weaver is a very talented player. Kid has a future

  • A genuine halfback is definitely what we need. He's not going to set the world alight but someone who can take over for Moses when he's out is all we need. I would also look at Volkman as a backup 5/8.

    • What about Josh Schuster. Reckon he deserves another chance if he is ready to work hard and is ready.

he can play so many positions would reckon he'd be an ideal backup or 14.

      • Looks like south Sydney will get him

      • I see Schuster as a Cartwright style player. We end up having him at Parra but it would be after a few years playing questionably at another team, most likely Rabbits.

        • Oh didnt  know he was south's bound. Just thought he'd be a cheap buy worth a shot.

          thanks guys

      • Hasn't the ticker. We need men not boys.

        • Well will soon see if he turns it around under Bennet  I  guess.
