Trying to cheer everyone up with some optimism for 2021 and beyond.
Stats:
Hardwick started coaching Richmond 2010 with their first finals appearance in 2013 (4th year). By 2016 they had made the finals 3 times with no wins. Won first premiership in 2017, backed in up in 2019 and are now in the GF for 2020. It took them 37 years between Premierships.
Arthur started coaching Eels 2014 with first finals appearance in 2017 (4th year). By 2020 they have made the finals 3 times and...we know how that ended. Next year will be 35 years...hopefully we don’t have to wait till 37...although 2/3 premierships in the next 4 years would certainly make the wait worthwhile.
Enjoy!

wow that is interesting isn't it and I'm sure they got spoons recently or at least were easy beats.
i remember a guy I worked with in Melbourne he would say I would love to just make semis, they were so use to losing
thanks for the post 🙏
But that's what they thought with Hardwick too 🤔
One key differnce is that Hardwick won premierships (2000 + 2004) as a player at 2 different clubs.
He is a champion player.
And he was an assistant coach at hawthorn and had Allister Clarkson as a mentor who is regarded as one of the greatest coaches in history.
I reckon we will struggle to make the 8 next year if we don't improve the squad.
Minimum required.
Centre, 2nd Rower, backup hooker and another big bopper off the bench.
Rumours are we aren't in the market for the starting 13 - except to cover Jennings. Concerning.
All the squads who missed out and even the ones who have done well will be looking to improve. If BA and co don't then it's in them.
Noice one Eel17, bit of perspective for BA bashers
Melbourne to win the comp next year, odds on next week too.eugene you stink.
Thats encouraging.
I also think looking at Ivan Cleary gives hope. He has coached a lot of first grade and, besides that GF in 2011, never had a heap of success. Only lost 1 game this year though with a very young side
