                  • Wow that's incredible. Bit like when my mum went to Cairo, said in the daytime it was sweltering, shorts and shirts. At night it was freezing, beanie and scarfs.

                    • It's an interesting contrast, because in a desert climate like Cairo the freezing nights are because the dry air does not trap heat so there is a mass cooling effect, whereas in a deep canyon like the Grand Canyon the air is dense and under pressure and trapping heat (and absorbing it from the rock walls).

When I hiked down Bryce Canyon there was a group of yanks setting off before me, and they were massively rugged up, full packs etc. Fast forward about 2 hrs and I come across them in one of the maze of (roofless) tunnels making up the canyon bottom. It's went from about 0c at the top to about 25c at bottom, and they had clearly not thought about layering and peeling off as they went, because now they're all trying to lug full packs and carry giant puffer jackets and thermal inner layers etc.

I took that as a metaphor for many Americans: even just some basic research about a few accepted facts would make a big difference, but nah frak it, walk into an oven unprepared

                • If i wanted to see a giant hole i would go to Shark Park....yeah, I hear 'ya....their female fans can be quite the sluts

          • Mitchy, just think of it as a free deportation to El Salvador, via Orange Turd Air. Once they check your 1EE messages to the radical communist proagandist marxist woke elite prof daz, you're toast, first flight to San Salvador for you buddy.

            • Thanks Daz, from memory it has great history and probably some nice coffee; I can then head over to the Carribean for some cricket. We can make another Hangover movie....

              • El Salvador is cool, Mitchy, with awesome coffee. There is a (dormant) volcano just north of San Salvador where you tour cafes serving coffee made from beans produced in the mountains to the west. Basically over-caffeinating on the jungle slopes of the volcano.

When the yanks deport you, ask if they can drop you off south, in Honduras, in the gulf on the border El Salvador/Honduras (west side), and go to Isla del Tigra. Then you can watch cricket on TV on a volcanic island with all the monkey lala's you can manage

  • Why would anyone go to the USA to watch nrl when you can watch it here. If I'm going to the USA it's during the nfl season.

    • No interest in going back to the states . Was in Sanfran was looking at stuff on a shelf in a Drug store as they call them when this Big negro bloke in his  bullshit bike gear and push bike heard me and she who must be obeyed talking heard say Fucking Germans . I turned and said im not a Fucking German the bloke behind the counter who was another large Negro told him to fuck off . So fuck the USA

    • Absolutely. Have you been to a game? Was at Chargers V Raiders in 2024 at SoFi Stadium, incredible. Except for the $30 beers, they do sport amazingly well.

      • Yeah NFL do it great. Ive been to two games. Both in Tampa, as i support them. in 2016 and 2017 was still at uni,

        Tampa v Carolina

        Tampa v Atlanta.

Seeing both a day time and night game was an experience both times. Was also there when they inducted Jon Gruden in the ring of honor. Great experience.

Thoughts on this guys? Anyone have an idea on how much this impacts a player's development? Should be good for him just to be around that level of talent
