Eels V Dragons 3-2-1

What a sea sawing game, with the referee really trying to influence the result. Some desperate digging deep in defence and working under fatigue coupled with some very very bad ball play by the Dragons has let us take the 2 points. So much more improvement needed, but the desire and playing for your mates is there in spades.

3 Points - The King Clint Gutherson, made numerous errors to help us, and his ball playing on his left was found wanting, if only he straightened their attack he wouldn't get the 3 points today.

2 Points - Bailey Simonsson, his strong running really helped get us out of trouble, ran for game high 244m with 96 m post contact, no missed tackles, Tried all day

1Point - Mitch Moses and Rylie Smith. Again his Kicks kept us in the game, his defence on the right kept us in the match. Still down on what we expect, with mistakes, but you just don't win that game without his input. Rylie smith game high 50 tackles and like Mitch his cover defence was needed many times.

  • I originally had simmo for 1 but 240+ metres that's massive. He's developed a nice hit and spin that seems land him on his front for a quick play the ball.
    3 Simmo

    2 Tuivati

    1 TDS

tough on TDS only getting 1 as he was terrific today.

Klein -3. What a complete turd of a ref

    • NRL stats have Bailey running for 244m.

      • Gutho still gets 200+ metres. Just his scoots from dummy half and getting in behind the markers are a big chunk of his metres.

  • 3. TDS - He was the game-breaker today and deserves the accolades. Great to see signs of his potential.

    2. Tuivaiti - What a monster and a game from the kid, he dominated when he came on and laws the platform for us when we came back. Loving this kid!

    1. Doorey - Made a couple of critical plays in attack and defence in the 2nd half when we were up against the wall.

Its so good to see our new crop of stars working hard and getting the win! This will be key to any success we have coming into the finals.

    Players that struggled

Paulo - just needs to run hard and straight and don't worry about the offloads. Too much of a liability at the moment with risky drops out the back.

Pezet - His defence needs work and he's becoming a target for the opposition. He had some good moments for sure, but if he doesn't work out his defence he will struggle.

    • Pezet was dog shit in defence. Again didn't lay a finger on the ball runner for one of Dragons tries today. Basically decided not to attempt to make contact by making it look like a misread. Looked more like purposeful avoidance of contact.

  • 3 Tuivati

    2 TDS

    1 Bailey

  • 3 - Da Silva, we looked better in attack with him on.

    2 - Simonsson

    1 - Tuivaiti

Honorable mention: Russell, Doorey and Kautoga
