The Parramatta Eels have upped the ante in a last ditch bid to retain gun hooker Reed Mahoney but there is a view Canterbury-Bankstown have blown them out of the water.

The Eels initially low-balled Mahoney with a two-year extension worth around $900,000 while the Bulldogs went straight into serious negotiations with a four-year $2.4 million deal.

Parramatta’s under-pressure Roster Management Committee has since sharpened their pencil with a three-year offer close to $1.5 million but arch rivals Canterbury-Bankstown remain steadfast Mahoney is the long-term no.9 the Bulldogs want.

So go from 2 years 450K to up it to 3 years 1.5mil
Basically 50K more a year? right well done guys
if they go with 1.8 mil 600K i think that is fair and enough.
