Hoops: Eels up the ante in desperate 1.5m bid to keep Mahoney as Bulldogs circle
The Parramatta Eels have upped the ante in a last ditch bid to retain gun hooker Reed Mahoney but there is a view Canterbury-Bankstown have blown them out of the water.
The Eels initially low-balled Mahoney with a two-year extension worth around $900,000 while the Bulldogs went straight into serious negotiations with a four-year $2.4 million deal.
Parramatta’s under-pressure Roster Management Committee has since sharpened their pencil with a three-year offer close to $1.5 million but arch rivals Canterbury-Bankstown remain steadfast Mahoney is the long-term no.9 the Bulldogs want.

Basically 50K more a year? right well done guys
if they go with 1.8 mil 600K i think that is fair and enough.
His gone
Parra need to match the years that's the key stop farking around with that. It's a key spot and there doesn't seem to be a long term replacement in the wings.
This R & R committee need to stop farking around with this penny pinching shit.
Getting tired of the sports media journalists. What a boring life they must live looking for more Eels stories.
But surely Mahoney would be happy to take unders to play for SuperCoach BA?? Because the boys love playing by for him.............
God you're fucking boring!
Yes Ii get told this all the time, thanks for the confirmation.
Give it a rest mate. Honestly. If they didn't like playing under BA he'd already be gone.
BA is leaving rent free in his mind and still he does not know it😂
