  • So who was last years head trainer and what happened to him?

    • He was apparently good right? In comparison to the AFL guy lol. having staff turn overs after the year we had. Anyone know why? I know there's improvements to be made, I just find it interesting.

      • The AFL guy is still there. Or at least he was last year, Willmot I think was his name

        • AFL guy is gone!

          • News release here from the club and nothing mentioned about Adrian Jimenez, with one other leaving though.

The Parramatta Eels Club has made some changes to its Athletic Performance Department.
Parramatta Eels rehabilitation coach Brendan Inkster has been promoted to Head of Athletic Performance, replacing Lachlan Wilmot who recently departed the Club to pursue another career opportunity.
Parramatta Eels Club General Manager, Football, Mark O'Neill said, "Brendan has done a fantastic job since joining us one year ago. The work he and our performance staff did this year to get the best out of our players on a consistent basis is a testament to his ability and level of professionalism."
Trent has previously worked with the Bulldogs, Eels and Sharks before being banned from NRL in 2013. However the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) cleared Trent of all charges and he is a welcomed addition to the Eels Athletic Performance Department.

            • I heard Jimenez could be at saints.

              • Mitchy, someone else said he had gone to the Sharks, or the dogs.  At this point of time there has been nothing said from the club about him, same as nothing as yet regarding players except for Sivo.

I am wondering when the eels go back to training, usually beginning of November IIRC in previous years, those who have been in the rep teams will get time off which would round out to the start at end of the rep matches, which I think is this weekend, so most should return next week.

I would think that news should start filtering out regarding signings, those being released in the player dept plus other areas. Who knows there may also be an announcement about who takes over from Bernie as CEO,

                • Yes mate agreed; i may be wrong about club but think that's what i was told.

i have no idea and yes when they come back in a week or two it will come out. I assume development players and others may come back first and then others filter back in coming weeks.

tbh Col I'd love to get down and see them early on in terms of changes in running etc. Elkin has good history with clubs and to me was a shock call but I heard we wanted him a while ago too.

As for Bernie again no idea....and yes we could hear then too which would make sense.

i only hope we have another backrower or two coming in as i am not sure about Taka.....

                  • Thanks Mitchy.  I will stand by my view regarding the import player/s to the club for next year. that being we really only need to bring one back rower in to replace Manu and Tepai, Gower primarilly being a reserve grader for most of this last season could/should be replaced from within

Seems the news going around with the Sam Burgess retirement is that the rabbits are going for Frizel and Arrow, the ointment fly in Matto is that he's linked with the sharks, dogs, eels, saints, & penrith, last count,  I would like to see him being the primary back row replacement target, as he is close in regards to size, and abilities of Lane, and they could form a good edge partnership, with perhaps one other front rower to come but I also think we are covered in that area already.

If going outside the club, I would have a look at Patrick Kafusi  as he's off contract at the Storm

  • The afl guy was punted. Flanno and Elkin could prove to be a formidable paring.
