I was going through my camera roll earlier, and came across this photo of our lineup from exactly one year ago — Round 21, 2024 against the Melbourne Storm.
Upon reading the names, it was mind-blowing the quantity of players who are no longer at…

Joash spent pre-season at fullback, played juniors at fullback, so maybe it's the simplest solution.
We don't have another fullback ready to go, so shifting Joash there and bringing Hawkins in gives us the best option in both positions.
How does Russell keep his spot ahead of Simmonson?
I must need new glasses I think.
Bit of a worry, would have thought Ryles has seen enough of Russell at centre. Simmonson was a bit off last week, but I'd prefer to see him or Samrani get some game time at centre.
Like Joash at 1, Hawkins may as well play 6, but Sean Russell must be the nicest bloke on the planet, or BEM is right, and he is a witch doctor.
Simmonsen and Russell were both ordinary last week. Glad Moses is back. I think Hawkins will be the future 6 next year with Moses. Joash is only at number 1 because Longi is injured. Best side so far this year except for Longi being out. They can win this depends on the refs and bunker of course. Who are the refs for this match
Yeah surprised he dropped Simonsson over Russell to be fair. Maybe prefers the combination. I was adament we did not need another Centre with Simonsson here but if Simonsson is not preferred over Russell then yes we need to sign a new Centre.
Plus surprised no Brown. Hawkins is 2nd best option so not bad. I did say i would question Ryles' stubborness if he named Brown at 1 and left Papali'i at 6 but he left Brown out entirely and though still stubborn he made next best option and put Papali'i at 1 and Hawkins at 6.
Looks like Ado Carr will have to go looking for the boll again,J R must see something I done
Pending any last minute switcheroos, it appears Ryles is sticking with The Future is Still Now With a Plot Twist ideology and Form First.
Some Bold Calls. Brown Isn't Back from Purgatory. Russell over Simonsson? Interesting.
Definitely wow, Chiefy. We rarely got surprised with team lists over the last eleven years or game plans.
PS: LB, did you have a chat to Ryles about Hawky? Lol.
