Why Simonsson dropped and Russel not?
I really don't get the Russell criticism. He has been extremely solid and consistent this year with very good defence. He is the least of our worries. Do all his critics actually watch our games?
I defintely agree. He hasn't set the world alight, but he's been decent in defence and solid in attack. There is areas he needs to work on (setting up his winger mainly) but he is a nice piece in have in the squad.
Isn't the issue with Russell that he too often does not manage to get the ball to JAC? Also that ideally you want your centres quick enough to loom in support play but nope, where is he? And we do have to ask why JAC is now coming in to assist Russell and leaving pace on outside, when that was not happening earlier in season. Who is to blame?
Same same as with Iongi at the beginning of the season forget what Papalli does with the ball.We want to see high ball diffusal an organised defensive line communicating numbers in front of him and him being solid positionally and defensively.
If he creates in attack great that's expected it's without the ball which will dictate his success or failure imo.

Matto isn't going anywhere I reckon once clubs get a sniff of this guy they won't sign him and Matto isn't leaving a cent on the table.The guy wouldn't pay a $3-4k fine 2 yrs ago he knows he's guaranteed 600 plus from Parra next year and unless Warrington offer him a multi year deal that contract is a boat anchor.
