Rumour has it that David Stagg was seen in lengthy talks in a pub with Eels recruitment manager Rod Reddy and that Staggs kids were running around with Eels caps on.
This was aired on Triple M this morning.
I know its a rumour but I would love to have him at lock for the Eels.

I guess the fact that his kids were running around in Eels jerseys is a positive sign in some ways, though someone will always view it from a negative perspective, but personally, I think it can be interpreted as a positive sign.
It'll be interesting to see what Reddy and Stagg were discussing for starters, and what the Eels plans to get him on board if they do.
Not as much as Mateo was, but he has played at five-eighth before for the Dogs, so it's good to know that we're continuing the trend of ball-playing locks through Horo and possibly Stagg should he come.
Obviously though, should he sign, you'd imagine that Horo would shift to the second row, and Stagg at lock? Then again, most locks can play in the second row, so it shouldn't matter.
Will not come cheap though.
dont know how someone could see his kids with eels caps on etc.. why lie! go find a job mate!
Yes, Stagg is contracted for the next two years, but how do we know that he will be there beyond that?
The way I see it, the whole point of talking to Stagg, is so that he can assume Hindy's position upon his possible retirement at the end of 2012.
And I highly doubt that someone is going to call in, and lie about seeing Stagg's kids running around in Eels merchandise.
That'd be stupid.
There would evidently be something in place by Triple M to ensure that the rumours aren't just bogus.
So in this case, they'd probably get on the phone with Rod Reddy or the recruitment guys at the Eels to confirm it.
