Eels ranked 14th most valuable roster in comp.

SMH article has the eels roster valued at 14th in the competition just above the dragons and Titans. We are well behind the heavyweights in roster class. Ryles is doing a solid job with what he has available but R + R need to go shopping badly. Panthers roster is valued at 3 million dollars more

  • Lol the salary cap is completely broken at this point top players only circulate between the top  teams and the rest either pay massive overs and ruin their roster or lose each week to clubs with far superior players, unless we hit gold with some juniors we are going nowhere it seems

  • Apparently we're building and just need to be patient. It doesn't matter that other squads are brimming with rep players. The club said they're very happy with our roster as we once again miss out on another recruitment target. Is Hock still available?

    • He is but need to pay his bail as a transfer fee.

  • Well considering that none, I repeat none of our forwards in our top 30 are signed past 2027 and we are ageing, doesn't surprise me.

Our forwards are a weak link and Ryles has shown he knows it needs to be fixed.

All I know is if I was Ryles, I'd be printing that all over the COE and letting the players know how everyone feels about them. See if they get pissed and take it out on Wests

  • Thats Mark O'Neil's brilliant work. We do have a crap roster that most teams don't fear, it's just we are blinded by bias. We have no centres, 1 winger and 1 halfback. Our forwards are crap and we rely on unearthing talent.

We buy reserve graders and start them - nothing is elite within this team

    • So, is it all on Mon? Coach has nothing to do with it?

      • 100% its Mon, he has been there and overseen it the last decade. Coach has been there 12 months.

      • It is MON's job to set up the roster for the squad to succeed, the job of a GM is to ask the coach what does he need and what type? Coach replies and the GM goes out and tries to get what the coach wants. Now what happens in that process between can be a collective of everybody from Sarantions to MON to Ryles even Beach on the board.

So MON's job is signing players, he is not alone in convincing that player to come to the club.

      • it's the board that fkd us up,

        our spine should've still been 1Iongi 6brown 7moses 9mahoney.
Papalii should've been kept. And we should built around them.

  • and storm just landed Jamaynne Isaako, crazy

we landed a few mozzies at best

"I'll back the coach as Ryles is doing a great job with what he has, but MON really is in the firing line here.
Other than signing Ryles himself, I'd say Ryles is responsible for all the positive change in the last 2 years, this might be a faceatious…"
