Eels offering Jordan samrani

It keeps lagging when I try putting the article up so I won't bother but coming from code sports.

The eels are offering Jordan samrani in a player swap for Mitch Barnett and also a three year 2.6 million dollar deal.Personally I think it's a bit to much.Lmk your thoughts 💭?

  • Get him we need him !

  • If true I like the aggressive nature of the move.

JR knows his team can't compete with the big boys in the comp he just doesn't have the talent.

Again if we get this across the line it's a win for the club and it continues the upward trend.

The key here is if this is real they need to finish the job.

    • 3 years not too long? I think that also means we wont resign JDB.

      • Maybe but all I'm seeing is adding SoO talent to a foward pack thats devoid of that quality.Yes he's up there in age he's probably at the end of it but we've lost Brown Lomax in 12 months and replaced them with soso talent.

We need a win in recruitment and badly just for optics.I mean everyone round here was lauding Kolomatangi being age x at the end of his contract.

3 yrs screw it what have we to lose.Brisbane don't give a rats about Barnetts injury or his age. There carrying injury prone Reynolds and oldman Hunt yet Parra fans are worried about the same is what the premiership heavyweights are ready to get Barnett there tomorrow if they could.

Mind you do I think the Warriors are thinking Samrani is an enticement I doubt it.

        • Well said, Coryn.

If those figures (850k/900k) are accurate, you’d think it’s for this season also - which is possible with the compassionate reasoning?

I doubt Samrani is really being offered but we are a far better team with Barnett than without him - especially defensively.

Its not an ideal situation, but this is the result of missing targets consistently - you are left with limited options & rep forwards don't grow on trees.

JR understands what he needs & if he's keen on Barnett, all for it.

      • Yep no jbd and no paulo try to extend walker

    • Great point. Ryles said before Round 1 we need to strengthen the middle. We are desperate for that leader in the trenches.

  • id rather he stay, big fan of what jordan offers our team. seems a strange call to me

  • Mmmm not sure on that. We are have very limited depth in backfield and Samrani's versatility as a Centre and Winger is important to our depth.

But also if he can play full-time FG then good on him.

    • LB, you disagree a bit with whom we target and what we will pay, which confuses me at times. If you had 1 target, Who would you target and what would you be prepared to pay and give to make it happen. Its cool if you don't want to answer, to me Samarani is a depth signing, if we listen to our experts in the know, we have a lot of depth signings making there way up from the juniors reps. Not many state of origin props around.
