Parramatta chief executive Bernie Gurr says the club must not rush to re-sign coach Brad Arthur, nor stars Mitchell Moses and Clint Gutherson, in the wake of the Eels' embarrassing loss to the Storm.
The 64-10 loss to a red-hot Melbourne team has taken attention away from the constant conversations about the futures of Arthur, Moses and Gutherson, which have dominated Parramatta's surprising start to the season to date.

Gutherson and Arthur's futures, in particular, have been a constant source of discussion and there had been some suggestion last week that Arthur may be near putting pen to paper.
But Gurr insisted that was not the case, declaring the timeline the club put in place before negotiations started remains in place.

"There is a timeline around (negotiations with Arthur) - there is a timeline there and that hasn't changed," Gurr told the Herald.
"There is no stipulation around a certain number of wins or anything like that. The club and Brad are comfortable with where things are at."
Gutherson's signature has still not been secured.
The money he will be paid for next season and beyond has been agreed upon by the Eels management and Gutherson's management but the fullback wants to secure a fourth year and Parramatta insist they will not budge from their current offer, which stands at three years.
While Eels fans wait for one of the two parties to blink, Gurr is happy to let the process take care of itself.

"There is a process in place and despite all the media talk around it (general manager of football) Mark O'Neill has been in constant dialogue with Gutho, Mitchell and their managers," Gurr said.
"Everybody involved in the process understands that there is a genuine commitment to get a deal done but we have to be realistic and realise that there needs to be a reasonable result for both parties."

On field, the Eels must now head to Townsville and face a North Queensland team which has started to play better football, coinciding with the return of Jason Taumalolo.

What is there to say.We can't string 2 wins together, especially away.BA seems clueless. But who is the alternative?
anyone is better
It's obvious that the players need a new voice
The cap and a boat to pilot up and down Parramatta river.
Well it’s warranted Brissy but I don’t see you bagging yet.
Maybe after the next pounding you will?
You have just confirmed Fongs point mate. I can see now why you are a BA butthole bandit, your generalisations are grossly incorrect, about as reliable as a BA halftime pep talk.
I come been regularly on here for weeks now, win or lose Thing is, you don’t like having your bubble popped. I think you should take a break from the game for a while and catch up on your Harry Potter reading
Well you can only change the squad so much before the finger of blame gets finally levelled at the coach.
This squad he is coaching is completely different to the squad he had at his dosposal in 2014 his first year, yet the results arent really changing. The team is still up one week down the next. The only thing that makes sense to me and the unbiased observer is that it has to be the coaching - its the only thing left to change that makes sense. The teams he has coached have shown they can play, they perform well in patches and in stages but they cant stay up and that has to fall at the ffet of the coach. If it were any other succesful club in any sport, BA wouldve been sent oacking middle of last year, but here we are in 2019 after that belting on the weekend looking like extending the bloke. Its just mystifying and dumbfounding that we could be this stipid and short sighted to resign this failure of a coaxh. He wouldnt get another gig at any ofher club and thats the measure of a good coach - being in demand...
Im here every week after a game, i make a point to congratulate the coach and players after every win and criticise when they deserve it.
Good for you buddy.
