    • I agree with general theme of what you are saying Cappy.....but

I had this discussion with someone yesterday in how we talk our book!  Hoey rightfully points out the incorrectness factually of the Dyllan example you make of a majority.....that said the point you make is true, the sense of principle if not fact. I actually think DB had a terrible season gone and did not always put in, whereas Ryles could find no fault. I question his judgement there but not his judgement overall as "our coach" definately has some recovering to do notwithstanding.

You lambast the R&R team for the inability to bring home that 5/8 that they negotiated pretty hard for all season, realistically they did not do a lot wrong.....things went our way very luckily actually, given the players we missed out on and the one we are losing were all abject failures.....yes even Talagi who was mollycoddled by the Clearys and still missed 16 tackles in his last two games, throw in another 6 in his game against NZ last weekend. Yes he is a talent but can you image what this forum would do to him with those stats.

Back to the prime objective, I believe there could be a reason this Pezet disaster is being pushed, we want to be seen as a winner in these negotiations which rhetorically we always tend to lose......face it Parra is not a desirable destination for players who think they can do better.....we would all like to have a pretty bride but its no coincidence that most of the billionaires end up with the most beautiful women!

Our turn will come and this debate after my original view of a send up and laughable (yes I was WRONG) has taken a new level of discussion and we need to step away from the laughable aspects and your examination puts us in the direction but still leaves much discussion.

We should agree that we are now in an unenviable position of not winning regardless of this happening (95%) or not.

  • Its the short nature of the deal because if it goes very well its like whats the point because we back to square one in 2027.   The only way this works if if we have a great deal of injury in the halves next year (touch wood) we dont .  How do we get NRL time into our pathway players ?

    • If it goes well the whole squad gains confidence and finals experience, losing Pezet won't take away from that. Whoever steps in just joins the momentum.

      • Combinations is the key go back and have a look at how many times we've had the same combinations playing on our left side since 2023.You throw Pezet in your starting again in that area and your most probably starting again in 27.

Let's also call this what it is whoever steps in for Brown at 6 defensively we are taking a hit there's no way around that.Nobody has mentioned that at all and this is another issue by entering a new person into the mix.

  • I think the way this has come about and the nature of the deal makes this a high risk decision by the club and Ryles.

Way before the end of next season, they're either gonna look like geniuses or total dickheads. I don't think it'll land in between. Only time will tell whether it's hero time or zero time.

    • fishbulb Well put Fishy....high risk and necessity become real issues, the one that scares me the most is eroding Ryles and his coaching staff credibility........there must be a lot of internal discussion that we will never see and in that discussion the process could be polarised as much as we are!

Thankfully they are good enough to keep their view's tight, but everyone who disagees still live's with "their thoughts".

  • No

  • For those unsure for 2027 watch this if you haven't already.

The kid has it. Just doesn't have the body to cope this year. No doubt at origin or towards the end of the year you will see him debut in 2026. This kid is a 6. Broncos have Pezet for 3 years. Moses contract comes to an end the same time Pezet comes off contract. Who's to say we don't buy him back? Who's to say Broncos won't develop him and at 26 coming into the prime of his career we buy him back for $1.5m? I'm I dreaming? Probs. But imagine.

    • The eels are still stinging from losing both sanders and Talagi because of Moses brown blocking the halves spot. They are not making that mistake twice it seems

      • Eli Stephens why should they be "stinging" luckiest thing that could have happened....both are failures at this point of time and whilst you can argue forever about Talagi, Sander's was never a 5/8. Galvin comes into the category as well, but he possibly would have been the answer as a 5/8. This discussion would now only be happening if Galvin had failed after arriving at Parra, assuming of course we didn't fcuk up like the Dogs did!
