I thinking the timing for JDB is pretty perfect. The development tunnel for our young forwards is nicely structured.....just thinking about that "mongrel" and NAS at the right price does give some authority and would be good for these young blokes. Ryles assumably knows how to handle him?

Im pissed at our R and R strategy because we don't seem to look outside the borders of NSW and Queensland for talent.
The last time we did we unearthed the best ball runner in the nrl.
We found Brown and Nuikore in NZ as prime examples.
A good friend of mine is the attack coach for the hurricanes told me NZR are shit scared of the nrl poaching there up n coming talent especially at first 15 level and the 18-21 age group because the nrl development deals they can't match.
So I' really can't understand what or why we aren't poaching it.The warriors are open about it they don't care there recruiting high school kids at will they just don't care there even opening an academy in Mackay apparently there looking everywhere for talent.Melbourne are the same Duffy in the past Walbrick NaS it farken infuriates me that our R and R are asleep at the wheel.Dogs have partnerships with clubs in Fiji and Christchurch NZ Riff are openly looking in PNG.Like you mention Cap we are getting beat by teams with just superior talent and they don't give a rats where how who they just overturn every stone like it's another opportunity.

You need to understand our junior base has lots of youngsters who we lose because we cannot service them all. I understand and agree with what you are saying and yes strategically if I was Parra I would be appointing a agent in each of these deveopments to watch, wait and pounce. Forget about duplicating the process as we will cannablise ourselves. A good example is Manly who have an agent inside Westfield High who is/was picking cherries all the time. Like wise Easts are picking up players at a level where the hard work has been done already. Think Robert Toea and Penisini's mate who is now playing Union for Australia,
Paying for the right scouts in this scenario is something Parra can do and if they are special enough, offer them the same sort of deeals we have to compete with to retain our best juniors.
Its not rocket science but it does require some smart planning. Getting good scouts is not easy....how many of us can't agree with Pezet being a potential star, come back a few years and its harder again to identify, after they are proven its easy to sit back and say he stood out like "dog balls"
