I like it if we can get him this year it'll be perfect. Is strong fast and is a great finisher. They really stuffed his confidence moving him in the centres when he wasn't ready. I'd be very happy with him on the wing.
We nearly got him last year when Sivo went down, they pulled the plug when Mansour got hurt.
I mean he's young and has some experience but not overly high on him, I rate Dunster and Sivo higher than him and Simonsson on par.
I will say though Paulo is more of a BA winger than Simonsson, BA like hard working wingers to start off sets, Simonsson is hard worker but doesn't start sets that well.
Early days LB, Dunster hasn't proven anything yet...Fergs started sets off but BA won't have a bar of him, even if he came for nothing.....Simmonson the jury is still out....I am hoping and he has improved but ultimately we want and need more from all our wingers.
Fair assumption but Paulo is reletively unproven also, but he has been dropped for Mansour who is a shell of his former self. Knowing some Souths fans they are dying to get rid of him. I trust the clubs judgement but i am not sure if he is better than what we have unless he is primarily used as a back-up.
One positive on Paulo is the fact that he can be trained to be a centre. He has the body and agility to do so, just defence needs work which can be fixed.
Go look at simmonsen's post contact metres the last few weeks. I think he is starting to find his feet in a Parra jersey reminds me of when Gutho first came to the club and everyone disliked him.
Not everyone . I actually backed Gutho when he was being touted as a shithouse Manly reject.
Simmonson has been starting sets very well
Because Simonsson seems hellbent on running sideways all the time.
Simonsson was originally a rugby sevens player and I think that sevens mentality is still quite entrenched in his game. He's a big boy and if he just ran straight he'd be a better commodity for us.
Not a great buy IMO. He has very ordinary defence and as someone else noticed has had a real hit to his confidence. I would be holding out for Waqa and RUSSELL who shulkd be back within few weeks hopefully.
for all his faults, BA seems to be very good at getting the best out of low confidence players
Think RCG, Cartwright, Papalii, Moses...
