Parramatta have made their position crystal clear, with football boss Jim Sarantinos stating the club will not consent to the player signing with another NRL side unless there is an appropriate exchange of value. Speaking firmly, Sarantinos emphasised that the Eels see no reason to disadvantage themselves by allowing a release without adequate compensation, reinforcing the club’s commitment to protecting its roster and long-term interests. The stance signals that any potential move will need to deliver clear benefits to Parramatta, not just the player or rival clubs.

  • We would take Stefano or take Jack Howarth and Josiah Pahulu. That's only fair they are getting a top 3 winger in the comp.

  • I applaud the club and Jim Sarantinos for coming out and clearly stating the club’s position publicly—before the Storm, Team Lomax, V’landys, or the RLPA.

Framing the narrative from the outset matters, and the club has done exactly that.

  • I really hope we hold firm on this.

We obviously have planned for not having Lomax and don't need Howarth or any other 2nd rung player.

    • From the looks of it Badger, seems Parramatta are open to a player swap as Sarantinos mentioned compensation.

  • The storm will reject a player swap that doesn't move them forward. They want to improve their team too. Don't be surprised if it ends up being lomax for money

    • How does money work though? Money on the cap?

      • No, doesn't add to our cap. Money is useless as far as this situation goes.

      • Money is no good to us we need a player

    • We hold all the cards will. Storm can eat a bag of dicks for all I care. We need a quality replacement for probably the best winger in the game. We have plenty of money, We need to win a comp

  • It is no offense to Howarth to say Howarth for Lomax is not an "appropriate exchange of value". There would need to be SOO or National honours involved. Probably only Utoikamanu fits the bill? But also, the Eels lost a representative back which they have not replaced like-for-like. Thus, is a prop added to a roster that already includes Paulo, Tuivati, DeBelin, Hopgoode and Williams as experienced middles "appropriate exchange of value"?
