    • Why you yell louder now?

  • If the the tigers are willing to keep Heath mason at five eight with Jarome Luai at half, we should try and go hard after Latu Fainu, he has an option to leave if his path is still blocked.

    • All that is fine, no need to get excited, Garner is an option and the equation stands. Obviously if someone is better you go with the better one. Apart from the subjectivity, going after a player /s is not your problem.

      You can shout about it after the event, not at this point.

  • according to my old mate ChatGTP Luke Garner is known known for ;

    * Line running & Support play (running off the hip of play maker)

    - made 5 line breaks, had 3 line break assists

    - score 3 tries

    * defensive Reliability

    * Work Rate

    - ave running meets 86 / 9 runs

    - ave tackles 18 per game

    * Versaility

    - play edge, middle & centre

    * Attitude & Professionalism

    - reportedly low maintenance & team first player

    you cant discount hes won 2 premierships at Penrith, he knows his role and how to win. at only 29 could be this gens Beau Scott.

  • Honestly, what for?

    What's the point of getting rid of Cartwright or managing out Matterson to get in this plodder? For cheap depth, maybe? But he seriously offers no real value or point of difference for us.

    • I get what you're saying but what's the point in keeping matterson and Cartwright when they are giving you fuck all?, at least someone new might actually offer something unlike these two.

      • Cartwright would be more than $200k, in 2026.

  • I'm trying to understand the reasoning behind us chasing experience when we've just let all of our experience go.

    RCG, Gutho, Sivo, Brown, Cartwright, Ofa, likely Matterson and likely Lane.

    Either there was deemed to be a cultural problem with all of these players or their contracts were wildly overvalued... otherwise I don't get it.

    It looks like we've cleared the decks of older/experienced players and are now on the lookout for older/experienced players. What am I missing?

    • I think its pretty obvious there was a culture problem,  some of us have been pointing that out for years, also, most of these players were overpaid for what they have produced over the last two seasons.

      The only way to change a culture is to remove the old one. The older experienced players are the ones that shape the younger inexperienced ones.

      We were in a much larger hole than any of us thought, there is no quick fix to our problems if you want to fix them long term.

      People should prepare themselves for another season of struggle after this one because of the way contracts are done these days you have to recruit for 2 seasons ahead not next season as practically all good players that are looking to change clubs have signed contracts starting next season.

      After November 1 we will be able to negotiate with players for 2027, unfortunately the timing for us is bad as we will be competing with the Perth bears. For next season we are going to have to settle for what ever half decent players we can get.

    • Also adding to my reply, we should have more confidence in ryles's recruitment.  Look at what he has added so far, Longi, Walker, Williams,  Hawkins, Koatoga, Samrani, Papalii and addo-carr have all had positive impacts on this team.
