GEORGE Williams has revealed an NRL side has tried to take him to Australia – but that does not mean he is leaving Wigan.
Parramatta Eels are believed to be keen on the England stand-off, who has established himself as the best half-back in Super League.
Williams is currently in talks with the Warriors over an extension to his current deal, which expires at the end of next season.
A Wigan source insisted that a deal was ‘pretty close.’
But the man himself admits an Aussie side has already made a move as speculation over his future swamps him, even on his days off.
Williams, 22, said: “NRL clubs have been in contact with my agent but I’ve not spoken to anyone.
He has played five matches for England scoring one try and won 'Young Player of the Year' in 2015.

George Williams "Catch him if you can ." you tube ! ..... No one could tackle him with their hands ! ... He is quick !
Kid has speed and a neat step
to see what he has got to offer under pressure
A real running half by the looks of it, which is what we could potentially be after. The only thing that makes me thing this is just speculation is that he plays on the left.
Some VERY ordinary defence there.
