The National Rugby League (NRL) today issued Parramatta Eels player Dylan Brown with a breach notice following an NRL Integrity Unit review of criminal proceedings which were finalised at the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday, 28 June 2023.

On that date, Dylan Brown pleaded guilty to two (2) charges of sexually touch another person without consent. These charges followed an incident within a licenced premises at Double Bay on Saturday, 3 June 2023.

The convictions were recorded by the Court and Brown was sentenced to an 18-month community corrections order.

The NRL breach notice proposes a seven (7) match suspension and a $40,000 fine (half suspended).

Additionally, Brown is directed to engage in and complete such education and training as advised by the NRL.

NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said this behaviour has no place in the community or the Game.

“The NRL does not tolerate unlawful conduct of any nature let alone offences against women," Abdo said.

“The education and training requirements will be specifically targeted at rehabilitation and prevention. It will also reinforce Dylan’s responsibilities as an NRL player, particularly the responsible consumption of alcohol and the impact his behaviour has had, most importantly on the victim, but also on others, his Club and  the game as a whole”.

The suspended portion of the fine will be immediately payable should Brown fail to complete such education and training or otherwise breach the NRL Code of Conduct again during the next 12 months.

Brown was ineligible to participate in Rounds 15 to 17 of the 2023 NRL Competition due to a Discretionary No-Fault Stand Down Condition applying to his registration.

It is proposed that those three (3) missed matches are counted towards the seven (7) match suspension.

As the Parramatta Eels had the Bye in Round 18, Brown will not be eligible for selection and participation in the NRL Competition until Round 23 on Sunday 6 August 2023.

Brown will have five business days to respond to the breach notice.

    • As expected, a PR stunt for Abdo and the NRL. No better (easier) club to do it on than the spineless Eels management & board.

The silver lining is this may hopefully be a wake up call for a young man who has so much potential. Many young players before him have had their careers ruined because of fame and fortune at such a young age going to their head and ego.

For starters, a professional sportsman on his week off downing 15-20 drinks is crazy. Every professional sports person should be doing everything he can to be physically and mentally more superior than his opposition. As for touching up girls because he thinks he's God's gift to women, that is not on.

Here's hoping Dylan Brown learns his lesson and fulfills his potential.

  • Faaark me. We should be sweet tho, too 8 for sure with Mitch n Asi, not too sure about top 4 ?!

  • Eels should negotiate 2/3 games paying the same fine.

  • I expected a larger fine.
Abdo is a politician plain and simple. Dylan should have said he identifies as a woman and he would have been given a parade and public apology from Abdo and co.

    • Abdo flexed his muscles with Brown and Curran. He's probably at home looking at the mirror saying "That's right, I am the boss"

If Munster was in the same situation he wouldn't do shit, same if it was Brandon Smith at Easts.

Abdo is so fake he makes my skin crawl I hate him. He has a fake smile and seems easily manipulated, what makes it worse is how much the media love him.

Greenburg at least knew footy and had a background in it before CEO job, some media didn't like him. But Abdo is loved that makes him worse.

    • 🤪🤣

  • Parra should apply and say it disrupts our season like the panthers did with may
