Dylan Brown

Definitely played well today if he plays like that every week. Living up to the hype

              • Traits I don't look what he doesn't have I look what he does have when we say long kicking game what and who are we comparing it too.

Id have said the same about Moses's defense did we ever think he'd become the defender he's become it's not impossible. So much like a long kicking game it's not something out of the question to add.Much like being a field general it took Moses years to get to this point he is now.

The comment that I completely agree with is the maturity and life experience which could well help Browns game much like it helped Moses.

What has to happen if you want Brown to play 7 is you have to allow him to fail unlike fans who'll just throw him under the bus and will use the I told you so line.Making mistakes and failing is the best form of learning unfortunately fans will just see it as failure but how else are you to learn becoming a half a 7 who runs a team doesn't happen overnight. You mention light years away id say until he's actually given the keys to a team I'd agree.

                • Time will tell. A lot will ride on Dylan's determination and Holbrook's willingness to persevere with Project Dylan at 7. Either way, they'll need a General somewhere in their spine. They don't seem to have one Yet. Storm have three 1s but Harry is critical in that formula for direction along with their systems.

                  • Holbrook did wonders with Fogerty , him being a specialised halves coach and being able to connect well with young players may be the best thing for D-Bag .

                  • The thing is Hoe, does a club spend 1.4 million dollars a season on a time - will - tell player?  Sure he has that great running game and good defence,  but its a huge risk.     Its not a calculated risk.  Its a move that could destroy a club for the next decade having that sort of coin wrapped up in a risky move.

                    850 k is about right

The bookies wouldn't have the Knights as spoon favourites if they thought Dylan was going to make a major difference

                  • System is key and it's why I always bang on about what's going on around your halves that make them successful Melbourne are the poster child for it there system are so robust that whoever they have playing wherever it just doesn't matter. They are so automated and adjust to what they have instantly purely because of the setup there.

I guess this is the advantage of having the same guy for 2 decades.

Riff much the same they are so well setup off the park the transference through to Ivan and what goes on there is also a mini version of the above.

For me for longevity I'd be having a close look at there models and be introducing alot of what's been used there as they are just streets ahead imo.

        • Was Moses demanding to be one of the highest paid players in the competiton ?  No .   Re-read my comment. It's got fuck all to do with winning games ( although we weren't cemented to the bottom of the table when Moses was leading us around back then either) .  Unlike the great D-Bag.

  • He always plays great for the Kiwis

  • We lost him now I bet we don't get Pezet. Another long ride for Parra

    • Lol so 1 good game and all of a sudden we are the idiots for letting him leave? So you think we should match $1.3mil for him?

  • You don't know what he's going to give you from half to half let alone week to week .
Also has limited vision for a half and no feel for when to inject himself into a game. He doesn't know how to grab a game and take control of it .  He had games like today for Parra over the years but you just knew it wasn't any indicator of his next game .
I think paying him to be the man is a disaster , he will cop shit about his inability to do things required of a 1.4 mil half and plenty of criticism that he's not worth the $ which will further make him uncomfortable. Can see it a mile away unfortunately.

"DB should aim up FFS he is playing for his country and surrounded by very good players; at Parra he was paid top $$$ and simply was not worth it, you can have all the talent in the world but unless you aim up then its worth stuff all.

Tragiceel replied to Eelawarra's discussion BRONCOS ENTER BIDDING WAR FOR PEZET
"I doubt it's the Broncos. Their future is 7. Black 6. Mam. The only other club, imo, is the Titans. If it is true Bellamy is headed there, he might want Pezet as his halfback. Cambell to 6, Pezet 7. Not a bad halves pairing."

Adam Magrath replied to Alfred's discussion Dylan Brown
"The entire argument of how a player performs in rep footy as opposed to club footy is kinda pointless because there's no salary cap constraints."
