DRAGONS LOOKING TO POACH EELS BACKROWER AND SOUTHS CENTRE
The Parramatta Eels have a fight on their hands from the Dragons over the services of reborn back-rower Bryce Cartwright.
David Riccio revealed on 2GB’s Continuous Call Team that the Dragons had shown interest in the 26-year-old former Panthers and Titans forward.
“The Dragons are keeping an eye on Bryce Cartwright as far as his contract situation with the Eels,” Riccio told 2GB’s Continuous Call Team.
“He is off-contract and if he can’t strike a deal there I wouldn’t be surprised if Griffin makes a play for Cartwright.”
Cartwright has scored 23 tries in 120 games since his debut for the Panthers back in 2014 and has scored three tries in eight games for the Eels this season.
Meanwhile the Dragons are looking at Souths centre Braidon Burns to shore up their backline stocks.
“The Dragons are also keeping an eye on Braidon Burns,” Riccio said.
“If Dane Gagai stays at the Bunnies then Burns will be on the move.”
Burns, 24, has scored eight tries in 34 games for the Rabbitohs since his debut in 2017.

Good luck
I would rather let Lane or Matterson go if that's what's needed to keep Cartwright.
Agree
Lane has been such a dissapointment after a great beginning and matterson so up and down
same. I think Carty will replay his faith to BA and re-sign.
What? Watch some vids of himself conducting his first holy communion? WTF?
?
Huh?
Yeah BEM , I think Cartwright offers more than Matterson & Lane atm. I don’t know if Matto is shot after all the head knocks, but to me, he just isn’t “in” the game as before, maybe he needs more time to regain confidence. Lane is a useful bench middle, fairly limited abilities. I don’t see him as a wide player, Papa is much more dynamic there.
Matto has never really " floated my boat". I hope we keep Carty. He has been good
Can't see him leaving. Finally back on track, why risk another move.
