  He's going to be the best player in the game one day. He's worth the money they are talking about if it's a longer term deal. But that's just my opinion.

  If we get him good but hopefully at the right price if not then no big loss IMO.   He can be this quazi 6/7 at the dogs with burton.  We can continue our development within.   In any case our 1.7.9 are far better then the dogs.     I agree the dogs will be smoked at the end of season in the big games like N QLD in 2022

  Some good points you've raised but not all 100% accurate. The Eels have purchased some good players over the years and have also produced some good juniors as well. The positive thing about Galvin is he's young and if information is correct he wants to play for the Eels! If he decides to go with the Bulldogs then so be it but I think he's better suited for the Eels as what Ryles is doing is extremely positive and will produce great results. There is no reason why Galvin, Iongi and Papalli can't all be in the same 17 moving forward. Galvin will be a great fit at the Eels more than at the Bulldogs. I can't see him being happy at the Bulldogs

  Papali is a talent and hope we find a fit for him in the future. Would he make a six, I couldn't say at this point in time. 14 maybe.

   1 major difference between Galvin and Brown is, apparently Galvin is a footy fanatic. I've heard he watches and studies most games.  I heard an interview with Brown a few years ago and he said that he never watches rugby league other than in video sessions at training. The players that spend their time studying the game are the ones that strive to improve their own game, the others are happy to just plod along.

   Going by the small sample size I've seen of Galvin, with the right coaching and without serious injuries I think he will become one of the best players in the game. His skill level combined with his confidence and work ethics (from what has been reported) makes me confident Galvin will become great. Only time will tell.

  Remember what Moses did too, he returned back home from the tigers. Imagine Galvin coming back and learning from Moses whilst increasing his skill.

  Galvin is a very different player. At 19, he is in the class of Cleary & Katoa at similar ages, imo, and they’re more generational than common. 

   

  He hasn’t achieved a lot yet, as no 19 year old players have, but elite clubs in any sport identify talent, personality, cognitive ability, cultural fit etc very early in careers & invest in those players. If you want to pay on ‘achievement’, you’re paying a lot more & there are still no guarantees.

   

  You only have to look at the Tigers, who have a 1.2m 4 x Premiership winner, who has been completely outshone by a 19 year old rookie because the systems around him have changed - and not purely in attack but in the 1%ers & tough work that few young halves have the confidence for at 19.

   

  The difference with Galvin is (from all reports) his mindset. The kid lives & breathes footy, and the fact he’s giving up huge money for development is a great sign. 

   

  Moses won’t last forever, and has his injury concerns, Galvin is insurance there also because he looks every bit capable of taking the reins - something we don’t feel DB could do.

   

  1. Iongi 6. Galvin 7. Moses 9. Smith.

   

  In a few years that spine is capable of competing for premierships & 3 of them have 10+ year careers possibly ahead. 

   

  The Storm & Panthers have shown to go that extra step, you need an elite spine & you develop / purchase the hard workers around it - as JR is already doing in Williams, Walker etc

   

  We want players who are passionate about the Eels, who love our club (not just being first grade players) and we have one of the best young players in the game, who just happens to be an Eels fan, and just happens to play the position we are losing a very good player in. 

   

  Very rare any club, let alone the Eels, get an opportunity like this & could define the next 5-10 years. If we don’t land Galvin, considering his Eels roots & Moses, it would show we still can’t compete for the signatures of in demand players despite advantages & that would be concerning.

    Like you mention when one of the smartest in the game is saying the team who lands this guy has the potential to win multiple premierships what do our devoted do sit on the fence and get the inferior player because he's cheaper oh dear.This is no disrespect to Sandon Smith either there just different players on different trajectories.Galvin potentially at 23 could be one of the best in the game.

    Then we curse our front office for not having a good crack at him.Im with you NoS everything you've said if we can land this kid it definitely keeps the arrow firmly pointed in the right direction.
