Do you take a chance on JAC?

We need speed, we need X-Factor, JAC possesses both. However, baggage can outweigh need. We have sought after Blake Wilson, showing our hand to wanting another Winger. Now the news of JAC not only getting done for cocaine in his system, as of now pending a second test, but also lying to Gould about having a positive result. If there is one thing you do not do in the game, cross Gus Gould, you will be made to pay for it.

At the start of the year, the word was the board, staff and some players were at their wits end with JAC, Gould being his supported and managing to convince those at the club to bare with him. Then news was circling he may not be extended past 2025. We are reportedly after Wilson from Canterbury, i can say now that will be dead in the water as i see a good chance JAC is sacked from the club from this, Wilson being his replacement for 2025 at least.

Which begs the question, does Parramatta take a swing at JAC? Connection is there with Ryles from his time at Melbourne winning a comp together in 2017 and 2020. He knows Moses from Wests Tigers days. We need pace and X-Factor? Though is Ryles the coach to keep him in check?

The big issue with JAC at the moment i believe is being in Sydney, he is close to mates like Latrell who are bad influences. It is no coincidence that since he has moved to Sydney all these issues have amounted for JAC. In Melbourne, granted had Bellamy, he had hardly any issues at all. Coming to Parramatta does not fix that issue, but can guys like Moses, Gutho, Hopgood (fellow indigenous player), Ryles all help with keeping him in check? Perhaps get a deal done with very low risk in case of incidents happening?

I have no answer myself as to whether we should do it or not but i am saying do not be surprised with the link and if we do actually go for him.

    • Wilson is off the table now, Dogs will keep him.

      • No. JAC is getting on in age. He's a lot slower and more injury prone these days. I think like Latrel, he will be more trouble down the track... just as Dogs are now facing. Plenty of young speedy kids in the Penrith and Broncos systems for less money, if Ryles looks hard enough.

        • If that is the case with Penrith juniors for example, why havent the other 15 clubs done the same?

        • I'm with you Zip zip, let's not trot

      • Well if they haven't signed Wilson already then it wasn't gonna happen.

        • More so it definately wont now anyway.

  • We need speed and there is very little available.

Even at his worst he is still ten times quicker than anyone in our squad.

If they can get a deal done that financially benefits us and the contract has performance clauses for both off and on field, it's a huge yes from me.

    • Ryles himself would have an idea of what can make JAC tick being with him for years, doesn't mean it will work but Ryles could think he could keep him straight.

      • Definitely worth the the risk.

Although, it also depends on if the NRL hits him with sanctions or suspensions.

        • Well apparently Canterbury ran a urine sample yesterday which came back negs lol.  Well der ... everyone knows it's outta your system in 2 or 3 days tops. Hence why it's the preferred drug for most with a job.  The coppers would've done a second test when he failed the swab , that's what counts .
