DO WE LOOK TO ANOTHER CODE FOR A HALFBACK?

I am thinking we make a play for either Matt Giteau or Quade Cooper. We might not have a chance to get them for next season but after the RWC in NZ next year these 2 might have ambitions to become dual internationals. These guys are both young and in Giteau's case has strong rugby league pedigree. We could even go for someone like Berrick Barnes as he is on the outer at the Wallabies or Kurtley Beale. It might be an avenue worth checking out thats all i'm saying.

  • Berrick Barnes showed great promise when he played for the Broncos, he would do a better job then what we have at the moment
  • I like the ambition of thinking outside the box in our time of need, but its an unrealistic proposition. Also like Muttman has said its a massive gamble to pay big bickies for someone who isn't proven in that code, let alone position.

The only Wallabies that I think would succeed in the NRL would be Giteau, Cooper and Genia.

Giteau is now to old to cross over and master the game. If he had of came over in his younger days he would of made a very good 7.

Quade Cooper plays like a tradtional five-eighth, great passing and running game. Is inconsistent though and has had off field dramas.

Will Genia would be a dynamite number 9 imo. Absolutely electric out of hooker and is very tough and skillful player in the Isaac Luke ilk.
  • Very good question.

Best option would be Dan carter of course, but hw would NEVER COME lmao

But i think Giteau would be a great option. He would need practice and time, but we dont have time, we want to win a premiership while hindy is still playing, so that means either this year or next year. Hindmarsh deserves to have a premiership ring and i really hope he gets one.
  • To much of a gamble and they would be on big bucks already.I miss the good old days when we used to take all there good players.
  • jay cutler from the chicago bears looks the goods i say throw everything at him.
  • maybe George gregan...he could come into the mix...he's 30plus....
  • ^umm wtf is wrong with this guy
  • or course they would be great signings, but dont hold your breath, cause it wont happen
  • would be good, make them an offer they will either take it or not worth a try. maybe even look overseas i mean souths got burgess even though the money is better over their, they wanna play in a better comp and see our country. even if its only for a few yrs. why not look in the lower union codes their are some great players running round in club rugby.
Why not look for an outside back from union, umunga, ashley-cooper,rockoko
maybe even some for coaching assistance like matt Burke for kicking etc
  • lets payback the rugby union chase WILL GENIA

"When you look at it that way, 1.2 is a lot. I reckon he has more in him than what he's showing at the tigers. Under Ryles he'd be a different/better player in my opinion.

"💯 I think for the most part he's had his foot out the door.
Even the defensive urgency isn't there for him anymore."
