What would you think if definitive proof of alien life emerged? Would it consign all religious thought to, as Mark Twain once predicted, the fate of a stuffed ornament in museums? How would suggestive confirmation of the principles of uniformity and plenitude - that if life can form on Earth it can form anywhere and thus will for everywhere - mix with confirmation of the principle of mediocrity (nothing special about humans)? Would mediocrity impact humans relation with technology and would plenitude turn science skyward?

Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen and Water seems to be the comon element's throughout the processes identified by the James Webb, on this basis you would think that all life forms come from this mixture?
I agree there aren't any little green aliens. The simpsons clearly told us aliens are big and green octopuses. Thinking they will be similar looking to us is ridiculous.
It would be the height of human self importance to believe we are the only intelligent life in the universe.
This is the Fermi Paradox in a nutshell and has fascinated us as humans for hundreds of years.
Modern history of humans says The Great Filter is a strong contender... we're doing a very good job of almost destroying ourselves. Autonomous nuclear weapons already exist, we're one big red button away from deleting ourselves as a species. And remember who we've put in charge of those buttons.
Look at those running the world. Can you really see us existing for another thousand years at this pace, let alone million?
If other advanced societies are anything like us they probably wipe themselves out when they get too smart for their own good. Long before interstellar travel.
It's great to see since I've been on my holiday that that sites been able to evolve past people complaining about non footy blogs clogging up their feed .
Being an Eels supporter makes us all ponder the meaning of life. 😁
or that word could be "Meaningless" of life.....luckily we have a Moses in the team.
I love the smell of "napalm" in the morning!
Project blue beam anyone
We'd be very ignorant to believe that we are alone in this universe . However until I see actual evidence trying to guess what that may look like seems pointless .
My logic tells me we can't possibly be alone , then my other side kicks in and I wonder why in all these years hasn't someone been able to capture even the slightest bit of credible footage or interaction.
I'm not religious at all , but noting other then religion can explain exactly where everything came from . But even then religion can't explain where " the creator " came form .
Smart observations wiz.
I am just not sure that the word "creator" has application....I cannot believe we were created, evolved under some influence we cannot comprehend....yes.
Thinking of this and turning it into an Eels blog, I suppose the R&R is not infallible after all.
This will make Chiefy happy! LOL
