Here we go again. One of our players before the court of the land is sentenced after pleading guilty. That is not good enough for Parramatta they suspend the player indefinitely. That is, the player is being penalised twice for the one misdemeanour. The penalty applied by the club is much more severe than that handed down by the court of the land. I can`t see that being justified by the legal or moral precepts of the law.Parramatta seems to be affecting a position of being holier than thou in relation to other clubs in the Nrl. If so, they are going to be to be at the wrong end of the competition each and every time. It is quiet possible that the Eels will lose every game that Kenny Edwards is suspended from. Bang goes 2017 in February before a competition game is played. Bad luck for those who worked their guts out in appalling conditions in the off season. Bad luck for the fans who have paid there money for 2017 only to see it down the drain before a game is played. If the club persists in this ridiculous penalty to Kenny Edwards the club should refund all monies back to the fans. If the club thinks that it will change the behaviour of a player by severe extra penalties, the club needs to think again. If that were the case we would have nobody in jail today. Whereas, in fact, our jails are over full with people who have been severely punished before hand. Ask any reputable psychology professor how to change the behaviour of a single person and they will say that it can`t be done by any practical means. What chance has an NRL club doing better than that---zero. Kenny should spend one day being suspended and be back with his team mates Tuesday or the next day. Leave it to the courts to issue penalties.

You lost me when you said that the club should refund all monies back to the fans, Robert.
I agree with you in principle, but that just aint going to happen!
Hopefully once the dust settles, Kenny will be back sooner rather than later?
hows this different to the real world, ie lose your licence (including professional) + cop a fine = can't continue working if the job requires a valid licence
"The revised code will require clubs and persons bound by the code to report to the integrity unit any matter which it 'reasonably suspects' may constitute a breach of the NRL rules,"
This is what has happened. In light of the conclusion of the court case it is now handed over to the Integrity Commission. I don't know what you expect Bernie to do?
Toddy boy will wheel out a phrase and smile at the media machine and we will get royally stuffed compared to the usual suspects who are treated differently
Exactly Brett. My membership is about following and supporting the team. I don't judge every year if they did well enough to deserve my support the following year.
Agree with Longfin, Bernie had no choice due to the guilty plea. Must be referred to the "integrity" commission. Hopefully, the fact no conviction was recorded may go in his favour. Devastated for him after learning that he witnessed his mum's suicide after a life of abuse from his dad. Heart breaks for him actually. To come back from that & incarceration speaks volumes for the man he is today. 1 week suspension max, anything more is overreaction
