Defence is a problem , you can't win a comp

Round 2 roosters put 56 on us, round cowboys put 42 on us , round 12 Penrith put 38 on us , today storm put 46, that's nearly 200 points on us in 4 games, you can not win a comp with that defence record. We will make the eight which is positive

  • Yes this is true. BA was supposed to be a great defensive coach but I've now got my doubts. We should be seeing definite improvement but it seems its 2 steps forward 2 steps back. We aren't making any progress. If we make the 8 we might actually be the only side with a negative for and against that I can remember.
If the players really respect BA they have a funny way of showing it. All we want is some consistency and for the players to play with some pride in the blue and gold jersey ffs.
  • You can have flair in your attack which is positive but useless if your defence can't back it up
  • Are you kidding! You haven't seen definite improvement this year? BA will win coach of the year for sure. Our home ground is a fortress, we just won back to back wooden spoons and here we are sitting pretty in the top 8. What more do you want?
  • Mate we should be aiming to win the comp , conceding 200 points between just four games is pretty ordinary , we can not rely on attack , defence is just as important , attack will not win you games consistently , defence will if you know your rugby league , it's proven time & time again ! If you have pride in your jersey you can have a good loss by being competitive but not get flogged by 30 plus which we have done on four occasions in. 2014 . It's unacceptable
  • But we have shown in some games this year that our defence is good.

Even today in the first half, we repelled the Storm quite well as they were raiding our line.  All is not lost with our defence.

  • we were 8 points behind till fuckwit sinbinned sandow

  • How many other top 8 aspirants have been pumped 4 times in a season and gone on to win a comp?

Its concerning no matter what spin we put on it.

    Defence = Attitude.

If this is so, then we need an urgent attitude adjustment.

BA flog em this week. They need it by the looks.

  • BA has made enormous improvement to the team so far. Much much more than what I expected but if we do make the playoffs, I would hate for the boys to get eliminated by being belted. It would only degrade all the work & dedication that they have put in to date.

They need to find the mojo to instinctively defend their line with passion, grit & determination, & cope with adverse events during the course of a game.

  • Last year the Storm belted us 64-4. Today it was only 46-20. It's not a huge improvement but it's one nonetheless. We're a club that's won successive wooden spoons and it's going to take time for the playing group to realise their potential on a consistent basis. BA didn't get flogged out there on the field, the players did, they did almost every possible thing you shouldn't do if you want to win a footy game, everything from dropping the ball on the first play of our first set to allegedly insinuating the ref is a cheat. Periods of the game where they looked well drilled are clear examples of the improvement BA has made, its what stopped us from getting belted by 60 again. What I've seen from BA so far, I'm confident we'll see a much better performance the next time we face Melbourne, maybe even win like we did against the Roosters.
  • The only time we have have gotten thumped is when we been absolutely hammered by penalty count and field possession. I'm happy with our defence but when your loosing the battle in field possession, play the ball and penalties sooner or later the flood gates open with the way the game is now. Our  goal line defence is best I seen in many years. Take a chill pill. Long way to go in this comp yet and we still a young team with a rookie coach doing very well and constantly learning

"Other way round if it were to be. Penisini is too slow for the wing.
Wouldnt drop Simo. His hit ups are good and he works hard.
Anyway..Samrani 1st drop for injuries or suspensions. Not bog average Brian Kelly.

"With over 100 nrl games in difference with samrani and will P .  I like samrani puts himself in the game and has a physical presence about it. Will has definitely worked on increasing his pace and defence but Samrani not that far behind him now . "
