  • Dylan Who ?

I don't recognise that bloke. We used to have a very handy 5/8, that was looked after by the club since he was a 15year old, and Eels fans from everywhere stood by him after he violated a lady and pleaded guilty with a potential for Jail Time. Oh yeah it's not about the money, but somehow it is. Liar !

  • The bloke couldn't lie straight in bed.
He wanted tenure, he had that from Parra already. It was nothing whatsoever to do with the 10 years. It was 100% the money. Just admit it.
He should leave today. He has been and continues to be nothing but a distraction. Let's get a player swap done with the Knights and get Dylan out of here.

    • I don't believe the Knights have any players available to swap that are worth it.

I certainly wouldn't be swapping a 1.4 million per season player for just anyone.

Maybe a million dollar player or a couple of half a million dollar players.

      • Knights would definitely want Dylan now if they could. We hold his contract so it's all a negotiation. What can the Knights give us this year. A prop + cash? A Prop and an edge player? We should be asking for a top shelf swap like Dylan Lucas. It's pure negotiation, we just need to strike a deal that works for us. Getting Dylan this early in the year would be extremely enticing for the Knights. We could come out of this in front.

        • Yep, should have got Brailey before he signed with Raiders (the day after Brown's announcement) and Dylan Lucas.

      • It's in the Knights benefit to delay it as long as possible. We've already forked out close to half his salary for 2025. If we could get a Lucas swap maybe, but I can't see it.

        • For the Knights it's not a salary cap issue. It's getting their star recruit a full season early. The Knights may want Dylan Brown badly come finals but why would we do anything to help them at that late stage in the season? The value for both clubs is right now. We land a player(s) that fills a weak area for us today and for the future, the Knights get their man and (in their minds) a legitimate shot at a Premiership this year. We should be on the phone with them today.

          • Yeah, you're probably right, Mutts. I don't know the specifics of their cap space.

Dylan isn't helping us right now in terms of what we really need (organization, leadership, game management) - and he's on auto-pilot.

But what we have to gain by releasing him early? We need to get something from the deal.

Our spine Hands, Volkman, Smith, Iongi - hardly 50 NRL games between them.

Unless, he's demoralizing the team further. It's already probably rock bottom which the playing group and inner sanctum would know (not us).

We've already culled a lot of attitude (and experience) and there has been so much change, but no cohesion,  no leadership, no communication. A lot of senior players at the wrong side of their career, with youngster next to zero experience.

By the time Moses gets back (who knows when), we'd be giving Dylan away for peanuts. And that's nuts imo.

            • We would never do it unless we gained something substantial. Take a look at their roster and point at which player you'd want. Dylan Lucas would be gold for us. Doubtful it would happen as he just signed with the Knights howver the Knights would absolutely have to think hard about it. They've already shown how crazy desperate they are for Brown. No harm in asking. They might offer Leo Thompson for this year only (hes off to the Dogs in 2026) but I wouldn't do it for a short term gain. I'd want more than that.

              • Agree, Mutts. For Dylan Lucas, I'd do a swap deal too. Ideally when Moses returns. Lucas is exactly what we need. Badly. Desperately.
