David Gower

Any news on the re-signing? Last I heard, we had tabled an offer he was happy with then the Storm weighed in with an offer and he was considering his options.

  • If he is considering his options, we haven't tabled a good enough offer. We need to up it to keep this guy at all costs.
  • Isn't David gower the guy they were saying has never been offered a contract for more then a year? I would of thought if we offered him 2-3 year extension he would be wrapped!! And I can't see the storm signing him for more then 12 months
  • As long as it is within reason, we can not afford to pay overs anymore. I hope he can see were the Eels are heading and wants to be apart of the ride.
Come on board David, you know you want to.
  • To me Gower has been our most consistent forward all yr.I agree with Tragic that we cant throw the kitchen sink at him but definitely needs to be resigned asap

  • Agree on the extended contract - give him a 2-3 year deal. It would be his first of that length in his career - that said, he did have a later start. DG is 28 - still got a few good years left in him I think and he has been one of our best - he's our forward mortar. Try get him over the line with the time of the contract more than the $.

    • If we were not to retain David we would be M.A.D. or worse, Loopy.

    • 3 years is too long. Anything more than 2 should be reserved for spine players or very damaging forwards. Gower is neither, he dors a good job and he's done a better than expected job for the team. On his next contract we'll probably be paying slight overs. After all when we have a full 17 think he's fighting very hard for starting 13.

  • No way ham he be in he be in my 13 each time
  • I think we should lock him in for a few years, we have plenty of explosive young guys coming through but Gower is solid and not afraid of hard work. He has a head on his shoulders like Peats, he has worked hard to be where he is, and takes nothing for granted.
