Cup observations

I have watched the last couple of weeks in cup and just have the following observations. Im only going to comment on people who haven't played nrl and have potential to.

The score is currently 16-10 at haltime against the Warriors, which is an awesome effort. I wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors ran away with it in the 2nd half. They have only lost one game this year and we have a very weak team. Lussick and Hands the only top 30 players playing. Keir and Pryke the only dev players playing. Even Latu and Nanva are unavailable or rested.

Twidle is a huge threat with the ball. Everything good in attack usually stems from him.  Definitely has nrl potential.

Sam. L is having a great season. Seems to have got his body right and is playing some good footy. He knows how to do the spectacular put down as well. I seriously think he deserves a dev contact or at the very least a full train and trial over the next pre season.

Pryke is getting better and better. Has developed some good passing and offloading skills. With a few more kgs on his frame he'd be well suited to the nrl.

Lokeni is getting a run on the edge and looks very strong. Would like him to get more time at this level.

Max Tupou has been the big surprise for me. Came back from injury last week and has come back like a house on fire. Unsure of his contact status but I think he has to be given an nrl pre season next year. He's a big mobile middle who has been running very hard.

Kayne Kalache will never play nrl I don't think but he has been so reliable for the team this year.

The one negative is Smalley.  Gee he is lost in defence, both on the wing and at centre.

Keen to see how Neemia goes in this second half.

  • Yea cup will struggle. Versing the best cup team in the comp which a bunch of Flegg and RM players.

    • Exactly EA and thats what happened

  • They are hanging in there somehow. Twidle in absolutely everything.  He is a class player. Very good goal kicker as well.

We have to be trying to find a place for him in our nrl team. 5/8 or centre.

  • Why is our cup side so good ? Looking at the team lists they don't have much of the star power playing today

    • Must be the coaching from Cayless haha. Nah, they do have a lot of good young kids in there.

Some dumb, dumb errors from our 2 most senior players have cost us big time in this game. Hands with an intercept off the scrum and Lussick tackling the kicker after the kick.

      • Yeah i thought NZ would win comfortably but they hanging in, maybe our junior depth is that good

  • I think we need to try Twiddle as a centre because we desperately need one in the NRL and he has the skill set of a fullback/. Five eight which would show the attacking upside he has. Nanva and Richie are a fair bit of NRL.

    • I think Bailey/penisni/russell have centre covered but Twidale wouldn't look out of place at 5/8 in nrl. Big gamble but

    • Twidle will be a first grader next year without doubt.  Thinking fb or 5/8 his best position

    • I always thought Twidle could be a good 14. Has size to be that Walker type in the middle even.

"The argument one journo said a few months back was he never actually said it that he left for a title. But his manager pretty much told evreyone that was the case.
We all know it was the reason, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles can tell you."

Bit of a rough game but 3 players that prob stood out to me,  3 Kautoga - Dangerous every touch and seems to be growing in confidence each game. 2. Kelma - one of his better games of the season but probably getting 4 weeks for that crusher. He's…
