Coaching director and first grade coaches.

There has been some talk of Brian Smith  as coaching director and JT as first grade coach after RS walks. At the Broncos, they are suggesting a similar thing with Bennett returning as coaching director in 2015. I don't like the idea much as there is too much opportunity for conflict. Didn't RS get the bullet from the Roosters after a dust-up with coaching director Gus Gould? In the case of the Eels I would rather see Smith as head coach and JT assistant coach on a 2 or 3-year deal. After that, JT could be coach and Brian, like Marcus Aurelius, could retire to grow cabbages. Sounds like a plan to me.

  • Lets cross that bridge when it is confirmed it's required. I think I Jt is of age and experience now he does not need an old fella hovering over his shoulders. He gets my vote. I always liked Smitty, I think he struggles with people skills of the new generation though. They just don't respect quirky people anymore.

  • I agree let Ricky run his own game ,
    He made the tough choices,
Sacked half the team ,decided who to sign next year,
Let him do it his way if it works great
If I doesn't he has to live with it n cop the shit that comes with it.
    Good luck
    • It is funny how people see the same thing through different eyes. When I saw the post-match media conference I was sure Stuart was saying I am outa here unless you build me a mighty throne at Parramatta Stadium and kneel beneath it to worship everything I say and do. Under these circumstances I would rather start building the girders for that bridge to cross right now. Let's not forget Sharp's throw-away line that JT gets the job if Ricky walks. Surely that has to be up for discussion.

  • LOL, 'Wiz, only cause it's true.

Slippery. replied to Eli Stephens's discussion Ryley Smith V Da Silva minutes distribution

I think Da Silva will become a good attacking threat from dummy half. A solid pre season with the team will do him good. I have noticed on several occasions Da Silva has taken 3 or 4 steps out of dummy half when quick ball to the first receiver…"

LB replied to Last place's discussion Talin da Silva's knock on
"I believe If the team that knocks it on touches the ball the play is dead. There is another rule book that states if it is knocked on and goes out either dead ball line or sideline it is a scrum from the knock on."
