Although I am not a fan of the club I get tired of people saying either "Easts who are they?" or "Sydney Roosters have only won 3 premierships, who is this Eastern Suburbs team". It seems there are people out there that think because a club changes it's name, it therefore ceases to exist and becomes a new team. The "Sydney Roosters" are Easts, they are still registered to the NRL as Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Club, Sydney Roosters is what they market themselves as and it started at the height of the SL war. Balmain and Canterbury tried the same thing only for them they did it for one year.
Just because a team changes a name doesn't mean they cease to be that team. If Parramatta changed their name tomorrow to Western Sydney Eels, and then won a premiership it would still be a Parramatta premiership. Or if Cronulla changed their name to Southern Sharks etc, same thing. It's only if you have merged or relocated when you can debate who died when and whose premiership it really is.
I know it's just common sense but some people out there on social media are as daft as a brush. Rant over.

What about the Gold Coast ? Are they the Gold Coast Giants re-named ? Or a totally different team ? They aren’t the first team from the Goldy obviously, they also aren’t the first club to start up again with differnt owners.
So what’s the rules on how it becomes a new team or the same team ?
Don't forget they were the seagulls before the giants, oh and chargers after giants but before titans.
Pretty sure the Giants came first and changed to Seagulls when they moved to Seagulls stadium / club etc . Or was it the other way round ?
Yes you are correct, Giants=Seagulls=Chargers=Titans=Shit C#nts
Personally I consider them all to be the one side, but that is just my opinion.
What about St George fans counting pre 2010?
