I think the celebrated Guymer retention is way worse than the DeBelin option being taken up.
At least DeBelin is a pro who can lead the young blokes in regards to preperation and do a job for you at a pinch. Guymer is a 21 year old not athletic enough to be an edge and not big enough to be a middle who loses al most every contact he's involved in. Horrible.
Well true. I mean i mentioned all the Lomax stuff based on a contact and they were spot on with pretty much most of what was told. So cannot 100% discount this but still it was a friend of Jack's that said it.
Admins, Why can't we reply to Averillo blog? What bad will it do the forum of the Eels executives and R&R team if Eels fans are venting their frustrations about the recruitment which unfortunately are contributing to the bad results in the field. The financial management might be good but the on field results are very bad, not only this year but maybe in the last 10-15 years (actually 40). Most of the players we have targetted have gone to other clubs. And now this Averillo thing, it seems we were not even in it. Players we have developed like Talagi and Sanders, other teams are reaping the fruits of our labor. And now we are again trying to develop Joash & Lorenzo, et al. The fans are just at a loss on what our R&R team and FO exceutives are doing. Are they worried about how we are performing and our standing in the competition ladder?
TolElls, Set up a new Averillo blog if you want to discuss it. I'm not going to reopen a blog closed by moderation. Hopefully, people keep it relatively civil (as much as possible) or drift horribly off topic and it will stay open and no posts will be moderated.
Personally, I think throwing Averillo a lifeline isn't a bad idea. I actually listed him as a third-tier option if worst came to worst. He can cover a few positions, including centre and six. Maybe the Tigers see him as their six after Luai leaves.
TolElls, can you see that Talagi and Sanders were let go because both of them wanted to go. We did everything we could to keep them, offering overs.....how many times do you need to understand that a lot of players, purely by the numbers we produce are going to go to other clubs, you would have to accept this before you start your haranguement
The reality is this year we have had enormous input of injuries and the recruitment that you are arguing is the future, not the past.
Have to be honest, our recruitment is up the shit. All i ever hear is players that are leaving, not one decent player has been signed. All other clubs are on top of their rosters, yet here we are idiling. Just not good enough for NRL. Stop signing no name rubbish!!
"To be fair, Gamble was a junior at Wests when MON was there. So people can catch up. If it is to sign him, as depth could be handy but also prioritise elsewhere if not signed anyone else."

Its just a rumour at this stage.
