      • Great points also.

      • Fm we've lost every forward battle so far. Every team have smashed through the eels pack easily.  You can't blame that on referees mate.

With the personal we have i can't see anything changing.   We have the bottom 3 pack in the comp , probably close to the worst,  thx to rubbish retention and recruitment

        • Plus if you get dominated in the ruck ,and if the opposition dominate the run land on their front , they get a quick play the ball and we're left stranded with players out of position.

Thats how you dominate possession and defence,  which we are both losing

          • 'Plus if you get dominated in the ruck ,and if the opposition dominate the run land on their front , they get a quick play the ball and we're left stranded with players out of position' - This is what im seeing also, Chief.

Maybe attitude isn't where it needs to be Coryn for that first contact as you say, but, attitude / effort / energy could also be impacted by whats happening on the field.

Good opportunity this week to see if we can change this, or if its going to take a change in roster.

            • I don't think its attitude.  Jnr paulo isn't even a mid tier prop now and wouldn't be worth 400k on the open market,  Williams should be @ lock. We have one decent people but he's inexperienced in big Sam.   Want to see more from Moretti and Teancum Brown on the bench

Jnr has had it.  Bench lock at best he's finished

            • I mention attitude because it's an individual thing these coaches can't coach that it has to be driven from within an individual or led from the front by the alpha of the pack.

We've been missing that individual that leads in certain parts of the team for 3 years.Nathan Brown comes to mind Beau Scott comes to mind guys that have the ability to swing momentum with just hard headed ness or the ability to just come out and smash someone.Yardage is another one we lost Lomax but before him it was Fergusson before him Radradra there are individuals that the club just haven't replaced in key areas of our game that's missing in the ingredients needed.

Its onething I picked up from the presser last week when I heard JR speak that want and he looked a bit bemused because he didn't know where it had gone but quickly covered the statement up well with the injuries players getting an opportunity because of them and we get a chance next week to right the wrongs pretty much.

JR is straight bat in these pressers but his tone was a little lost last week as he was uncertain imo why the team performed like it did.

      • So why aren't we copying them we have the capacity watch what they do on video you've got JR whose come out of the Melbourne and Rooster systems who would have diagnosed what is effective and what's not.

Why do these teams get away with it and again the question remains the same why are we continually struggling to replicate it.Melbourne have had success controlling the ruck for 2 decades and they have had personnel changes over that time but same same.

Penrith who are the benchmark have an iron curtain in the middle and there edges are very disciplined for the last 5 yrs and at there peak we're letting in 13-14 points a game and what have they let in this year 30 points in 4 games or something ridiculous playing top tier talent too.It starts with Mitch Kenny and there then Smith & Leota. All have big motors all are very physical for that's the heart and soul of the defense right there.Theow in a lashing of Isaiah Yeo and the components for a lock and key of a defense in the middle third are there to be seen.

  • It's not too late to make this real

  • They should make a statement about why they are flogging ANZAC jerseys for almost $200 when people are lucky to fill the tank and feed their family.

    NRL = Neverending Rip-off League

    • You are right. Just don't buy or wait for a bargain.
