I read the article. Gutho was professional, didn't bag the club in any way. The part about his Mum was funny, she's entitled to be biased. Nothing to see here.
Sorry but burning the memorabilia of a club who put up with his grubby negotiating, and kept him as captain, isn't great. Parramatta should wipe the Gutherson name from its history books imo

My thought was not about the mother or him being professional and not bagging the club
for me it showed he had no real love for the club and you couldn't envisage him ever being apart of the club post footy carear . Reason I say that is he gave all his Parra gear away , I look at Willie mason he still identifies as a bulldogs legend and no way he would have given away his bulldogs gear even though ended up playing elsewhere longer than at the dogs

I agree and I've said similar in the past. Professional yes, but that doesn't mean he's a club first kind of person. He's a fierce competitor. The type of player who would happily swap teams at half time and still put in a man of the match performance playing for the opposition. That's who Gutho is. Contract time he held the club to ransom time and again, publicly negotiating over a long period in the media ensuring the Eels were the highest bidders. He doesn't strike me as a sentimental person at all, hence giving away all his playing kit. Suffice to say I feel as much affection for Gutho as he does for the Eels. Which is not much.

See this is what the media does who really cares what Guthos mother has done with the Parra gear hell I've tossed jerseys of players that left the team over the years.I mean this is just a take to get a reaction who really cares he's moved we moved let's just get on with it.
