13211346693?profile=RESIZE_710xChief's Training Updates: It's Not Sixties, It's Better.

Absentees: The Fox, Ritchie Penisini, Dylan Brown and Bailey Simonsson still aren't training with the full squad.

Overall, there's a great comradeship within the team. The Fox although doing lighter activities, was highly vocal.

Ritchie Penisini is a monster and highly athletic 👻. If he can get his body right and play a decent chunk of football,  he'll be in first grade without a doubt.

There's some very quick, elusive and fit guys in the lower grades mixing it up with first grade squad, which bodes well for the future.

New Signing Jordan Samrani , the former Bulldog and Shark who was in the future Blues' Squad a few year ago (see above), is a big boy.

Hopgood is back after his back surgery.  He's in full training and hitting hard.

Matterson and Penisini outlasted everyone in the tackling drill. The whole top 30 gathered around the pair at the end shouting  one more, one more. And then Penisini absolutely charged at Matterson full pelt,  with the hit being game standard. In the background, all the fans in attendance cheered them on.

Ryles is very hands-on and involved in every facet whether in be attack or defence. He was always in there giving players tips.

He was very big on defence - focusing on hitting and driving back with a big emphasis on wrapping up the ball.  They spent 20 minutes on wrapping the ball and wrestling the attacking player down ,  one on one and two on ones. And the hits weren't for the faint hearted: They were around 80% game standard.

Also, I don't know who this player in the yellow is (above), but he's the fittest at the club at the moment taking over from Guth. He consistently beat everyone in the 200m runs.

PS: Sixties,  I'm coming for ya😆.

      • Lane. I picked it during the trials and made note of it.

  • Forgive my ignorance, but what's the polka dot jersey signify? He looks like he's about to run the seventh at Randwick.13211370483?profile=RESIZE_930x

    • Yes I saw Ofahengaue in the polka dot jersey,  I have no idea what it means, it's definitely not injury related.  In bicycle racing it means something like the King of the mountain climbs. Lol

And I'd say the yellow jersey player signifies the race leader.

      • So long as it's not the new away strip!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • I liked it. Could be a collectors item soon.

          • Well it does have a St George look about it....LOL..... put a Penfolds name on it and most of us old guys will cut our throats!

      • White jersey is for the leading young rider (pretty sure it's under 21) and the green jersey is for the points classification (best sprinter)

    • 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • Haha , that's our new 2025 Measles round jersey.

      • Or either that NRL's Circus Round?

"Only 4 from 11 seasons were we higher than 8th-ranked defensively. We were Jeckly-Hyde. Moses essentially admitted it on a podcast: Even the best year (2022) was up & down. The group surprised and just content to make the GF."

"Yep, Chiefy, true. I reckon 2025-26 is around a $5-6m cap hit because of the rebuild-clean up.
PS: I was going to add details of that but my blogs are already torturously long enough."

"And don't forget,  the club still had a few million dollars worth of players on our books who had either not wanted to play, released, or in the process of retiring - Matterson,  Ofehengaue, Cartwright,  Lane, Hands.
