Chief's Training Update: 30 November at Fairfield

Absentees: The Fox, Ritchie Penisini, Dylan Brown and Bailey Simonsson still aren't training with the full squad.

Overall, there's a great comradeship within the team. The Fox although doing lighter activities, was highly vocal.

Ritchie Penisini is a monster and highly athletic 👻. If he can get his body right and play a decent chunk of football,  he'll be in first grade without a doubt.

There's some very quick, elusive and fit guys in the lower grades mixing it up with first grade squad, which bodes well for the future.

New Signing Jordan Samrani , the former Bulldog and Shark who was in the future Blues' Squad a few year ago (see above), is a big boy.

Hopgood is back after his back surgery.  He's in full training and hitting hard.

Matterson and Penisini outlasted everyone in the tackling drill. The whole top 30 gathered around the pair at the end shouting  one more, one more. And then Penisini absolutely charged at Matterson full pelt,  with the hit being game standard. In the background, all the fans in attendance cheered them on.

Ryles is very hands-on and involved in every facet whether in be attack or defence. He was always in there giving players tips.

He was very big on defence - focusing on hitting and driving back with a big emphasis on wrapping up the ball.  They spent 20 minutes on wrapping the ball and wrestling the attacking player down ,  one on one and two on ones. And the hits weren't for the faint hearted: They were around 80% game standard.

Also, I don't know who this player in the yellow is (above), but he's the fittest at the club at the moment taking over from Guth. He consistently beat everyone in the 200m runs.

PS: Sixties,  I'm coming for ya😆.

          • Chiefy, the polka dot means as per Tour De France leaders jersey. Kramerica  can verify

          • I noticed the polkadot jersey in some pics. It must have some significance in regards to being a leading performer in some aspect of training.

        • He's very strong and nuggety, well built upper body. From what I'm seeing in the way the team was set up in training,  I'd say Ryley is already in front of Lussick

          • This is good to hear. I am hoping he kicks on.

  • Good to hear that Ryles is getting more out of Matterson. He's a very skilled player, but we haven't seen the best of him yet. This could be a great season for him if he can put it all together.

    • Haven't seen the best of him? Matterson was our best forward in 2022.

      • Still is Pou

      • Yes but I think there is more in him.

        • Yes, as long as gets treated with respect, he will probably want to stay as well.

If ever a player has been made to feel uncomfortable by "this" fan base, its him.

All because he stood up on a principle, nothing to do with 4K.

      • Pou he was. That's my issue mate, he played v good for a season and seemed to be inconsistent etc for two yrs while being very well.
