No big deal over a wooden spoon. It's just a spoon!
Who rightfully owns the spoon? Our excuse making just went next level.
Dogs were never over the cap, backending left them with limited funds to fill spots in 2019 is all.
We had every right to finish ahead of the Dogs who were woeful.
Manly were deemed cap compliant for 2018 (make of that what you will) but they were crap anyway. Their cap pressure is because they've been slugged with a reduced cap as part of the penalty.
The spoon is all ours.
16th, 15th, 14th...not really a lot of difference. No matter how you look at it, it was a shit season. But I will say this much, if a 2pt penalty was the minimum a club could get for breaching the salary cap, I reckon the infringements would start to drop.
I could hope that the NRL properly investigate teams that win titles - that's where the actions at. But we know that certain clubs have their own rules.
Shake and Bake
We lost 12 points for our massive breach but they lose 0 points for a minor breach.
Should be 1 competition point for every $100,000 breach.
Agree Premier. You could add to that: for every dollar over, a club will reduce its cap by the same amount for the next 2-3 seasons.
