Can this be considered child abuse?

Meet my son, 9 weeks old. We haven't won a competition game since he was born. So forget MON, Sarantinos, the board, Ryles or even BA, it's all him why we are losing he is an omen. A bad one.

All I get is it is child abuse, I say no it's teaching him disappointment the proper way and how to stay loyal the hard way. 😂😂😂😂

Or do I let the poor soul choose another team. Nah scree that could think of nothing worse, he will be sitting with me in no time at CommBank, just hope his grandkids see a comp.

Though did you all make your kids choose the same fate? Haha

  • Eels or  up for adoption

  • LOL LB, good looking kid, obviously looks like his mother.

I have a 20 year old grandson, when he was 6, his Dad stopped taking him to the football, because he cried and became so upset everytime Parra got beat, it was the time  "Stickey" was the Parra coach, so he had a bad year in the happy kids stakes.

He is just finishing his 3rd  year at University doing Physio Therapy and could not give two hoots about Parra at present. His Poppy is not so happy, I have just retired last Xmas and was really looking forward to this year and football in retirement.

One day I might need to have a Physio to remove my rusted on support.

  • Mate, I'm a child protection case worker and I do not allow my kids to barrack for any other team. One of mine, and I have 4, said to me, "dad, I'm going for the doggies." My response, "you better find a new home cause no doggies supporters in this house... Let me just say, he found his way quickly. Calling it child abuse would be to allow your child going for another team. My five cents lol. Go the eels

    • Some might say you're a hard man Alex, but no one could accuse you of not being fair

  • The little champion is an Eel! Case closed! End of story.

Supporting the eels can be difficult but he will become resilient.

  • I made my kids go for Parramatta . I actually feel bad each week watching their disappointment. If I had my time again I'd honestly let them choose. The club don't deserve our loyalty.

    • 💯

    • Your loyalty is very marginal Wiz.

Mick. your comment about the kid becoming resilient is very salient. Character building actually.

Also it can work very well in business, let's say you need an edge and your trying to make a sale. Just tell them your a Parra supporter and you will get immediate sympathy. Assuming of course you are dealing with empathetic people. LOL

      • I'm loyal to the club champ, not those in it , not even those playing for it , they're merely tools to me . OZITO ones at that. And not the red OZITO ones theyre those grey OZITO ones with chords.

Not shocked you don't get the difference.

        • I guess the only way to be a 'true eels fan' is to blindly support every single decision they club has made. Free thought and logic must be thrown out and we must be forever patient

It happens too often and that's an indictment on the officiating and on the game in general."
